I personally don't even see the relevance of Sasuke in the storyline anymore. In the past he at least tied in fairly well, but now we know everything led up to Madara and he seems like a proper end to the story in my opinion. Everything about Madara screams ''finale'' to me, whereas Sasuke has become a complete ''side story''.
I somewhat hope Sasuke and Naruto DON'T fight because I don't think it's appropriate anymore, but at the same time I know it might happen simply because fans have wanted it for years now; the final showdown to be between the two instead of anything bigger. To be perfectly honest I'd wager the battle would end in Naruto winning, much like how Hashirama won over Madara in the past. Hashirama wanted what was right, and Madara was drunk on his hatred and lust for vengeance.
Again though, it just doesn't seem to make sense for Sasuke to choose that same path once he finishes with Hashirama's story. If he is written to CONTINUE being stubborn even after showing signs of wanting to know the truth and to be able to accept what happens then I just don't care for it. It'll seem like pandering to the fanbase and nothing more. There's also the fact that Sasuke is nowhere near Madara's level, so it wouldn't feel right having the battle against Madara follow up with a ''vastly lesser'' battle between Sasuke and Naruto. It would be nice to see Sasuke just accepting what had happened to his clan and merely continue to go his own way, never going back to the Leaf Village but never going back to a life of resentment either. I mean, AGAIN, he seems to be closer to acceptance now than before, so if he's to choose the wrong path at this point then something IMMEDIATE would have to rile him up again. I just don't see it being written well in that case.
