I always try champs out first time in normals. Always. After reading your moves before the game starts, and trying out your moves in lane for a good 2~3 minutes you'll be as ready as you would've been playing 3~4 bot games, cause they don't help you with pomegranate. Imo most champions in game are simple enough that you can understand them in a good 3 minutes, then you keep playing to learn some tricks. I used to make a custom game just to try champs if I was really excited/they were new, but I don't do that too much anymore, unless they are new and bitches be hoggin them

I play bot games to learn champions for the very first time. And I do it to ask questions such as "are these skills queued up, or do I have to mash them like Trundle R?" "Can I hawkshot while vaulting?" "How responsive is this skill?" "Can it be used to scout?" "How easy is it to do X?"
