Uh? They normally do, because they're essentially the same thing. There isn't a specific "size" of the image that is on a bluray/game disc/whatever which is then shrunk or scaled to the tv, it's probably the aspect ratio of the tv which is causing the problem. Tv companies basically have two choices if the tv they sell doesn't match the aspect ratio of the image being displayed: black bars on the top and bottom, or cut parts of the images off on the sides.
Not a lot you can do about it for most tvs either.
