I think the problem with this series is it's too zoomed in, so to speak. She's both focusing on pretty much only Nintendo, and only video games. While damsels in distress are a common theme, they're a common theme everywhere. Almost all comics feature a recurring damsel (eg. Lois Lane, Mary Jane, etc.), along with most literature and movies.
Personally, I really don't care one way or the other, but that might just be because I'm male. I play Zelda cause it's fun, not to rescue Zelda, and I'd play even if that wasn't the objective in the game. As for the scantily clad issue, I'm not complaining, because hey, boobs (Not that I'd care if they stop using such outfits.).
