The people who take ARAM as serious as ranked and start raging at people go immediately on my ignore list. It's a mode thats soul purpose was to relax and have a good time with friends.
How would you know anything about the purpose of a mode being created? It's just another way to enjoy the game with a new set of rules, which was eventually made into a brand new mode (I'm still sad noone wants to do oldfashioned arab or aram on SR, because it's still played differently, with different strategies incorporated). Having said that, there will always be casuals and the more hardcore people. I'd say I'd belong to the latter and I'm a bit offended if you'd flat out ignore me simply for trying my hardest to get another win. Maybe I misunderstood you, but yes I will rage at people that for example go afk when one disconnects, because 'it's no use anymore'. He can comeback, they might get one dc too, 4v5's are winable, lets go down fighting at least. In fact I like winning an uphill battle because it makes me that much more damn proud. I'll probably remember that one time I won a 2vs5 with Katarina in the oldfashioned way of ARAM (on SR), granted the enemy team was made of fools, for another 3 years or so.
