Snow trip: What to bring?
#1
Ok so my family (+ significant others) has planned a trip to the snow to celebrate my fiance's birthday. It's been a while since I've been up to the snow (over five years... and I'm pretty sure I didn't dress properly then either) and I want to make sure we have everything we need to be comfortable and have a good time.

We also plan to go snowboarding one or two days while we're up there. We don't have our own equipment, so is there anything I should know beforehand about renting stuff?

Things my friends already told me to bring:
  • wool socks
  • chapstick
  • sunblock (SPF 15+)
  • waterproof jacket/pants
  • goggles
  • gloves
  • beanie/headband/something to keep the head warm
  • thermal underwear
Am I missing anything? Is there something on that list that I shouldn't bring? What materials are best suited for the cold? How many layers should I be wearing? I've saved up a good amount of money for this trip, so that's not too much of an issue, but if there are ways I could save money on snowboard rentals (or anything else, really) I'd love to know.

Hawaii was so much easier to prepare for. Rolleyes
