But hey, look at it this way: It's more than Metroid got. Nintendo completely ignored Metroid's existence, after giving Zelda fans everything they could ever possibly want, and before then saying that they don't make a big deal about anniversaries.
The way I see it, even if there was no mention of Metroid in its anniversary, at least chances are huge there will be another Metroid game in the future, possible with dimensions of a AAA game, whereas megaman just had 3 tittles canceled (Universe, Online and Legends) and its creator left the company. Megaman's future looks really dire in comparison, being reduced to minigames for online shops or apps for cellphones.
What Lozmaster is saying is true. This game has been confirmed to be fan-made from a guy in Taiwan who had the chance to meet with Capcom excecutives. They put no effort into this other than licensing it and it 's really cheap and lazy to release this as megaman's anniversary tittle, not to mention they are sharing it with SF. Nott trying to get on the Legends topic again with this, but does anyone realize how perfect of an scenario this was to release Legends 3? (come on, made by fans, the game already had everything they'd need to create it planned and gathered).
It is ok to be happy about this, more Megaman is always better than no Megaman, but I really wanna kick the sh1t out of people when I hear them say "OMG CAPCOM I FORGIVE YOU" or "I LOVE YOU AGAIN"...
As for sequels we need, the Zero games didn't end in a cliffhanger. If freaking X could die, it's absolutely possible for Zero to die too, we've had enough of the X series so I'm not looking forward to more MMX, ZX does need a continuation and it'd be awesome to finally get that game where you play as Pandora/Prometheus that was hinted before, but without doubt the biggest cliffhanger in the series is Legends (lol).
