Maybe it's just a Virginian thing, but I never had to register for the Selective Service, either. I remember my brother and sister having to do it, but they're a few years older than I am. Things must've changed over the past 5 years or so, since I turned 18. I never got a letter or anything in the mail asking to sign up for it. However, if it's preventing you from doing all of that, it sounds like you should go sign up for it.

Not to mention, it was stated that they would never do another draft. Of course, one can never truly trust what the government says, but who knows...
