I've only gotten to like level 25 or something since my friend and I don't play that often, but it's very discouraging knowing how far away those epic skills are, and how much junk I have to put points into to get there. I'm specifically talking about Axton's Survival tree, and how I want to build around Pressure while going towards Gemini, but Preparation is counter-intuitive to that despite being directly above it, Last Ditch Effort sounds stupid, Forbearance doesn't sound too useful, but I haven't been statused very much yet, and Grit is also counter towards what Pressure does.
I know how you feel in that regard. One of the reasons I stopped playing when the game was originally released was a combination of Maya's skills looking like crap, and a lot of them feeling like just re-hashed Lilith skills. I know they're both Sirens, but a new game should have new skills and new classes, even if they are named the same class. Hell, even in an ECHO Handsome Jack says each Siren has different crazy ass powers...and yet they didn't feel all that different to me. The only difference I experienced was a useful action skill compared to the one Lilith had.
One of the benefits of Mechromancer, in my opinion, is that she isn't based on one of the BL1 classes. She's got some pretty decent skills, a lot of her skill trees is stuff I want. There are a few skills I find rather useless, like increasing the speed of Deathtrap. He goes pretty damn fast and can go through walls by default, so why would I care about that? Another is the end-tier skill in I believe it was the middle skill tree, that gives him a copy of your shield. I've never once had him die on his own, it's always the timer that gets him...so another skill that confuses me as to why it exists. Thankfully, I haven't hit a point where I'm trying to advance down a tree and have no idea what to buff because all the choices suck, but I can certainly see why other classes would have that issue.

Hrm...so if you're maxed out, the only draw for this is new enemies and even rarer gear? I suppose I shouldn't complain, but when it comes to a game like BL2, when I hit max level I kinda just get bored with no progression outside of story. Certainly no reason to do it twice (Regular and then TVH mode), and even if you can buy new gear for the new rarity...I've never really seen much buyable that's really that great. Oh well, I'll have to wait for sales for this pack.
Anyone know if they've said anything about the next one? They seem to be dishing this stuff out pretty quickly this time.
