I normally won't want time-limited events, but this is different, so many players (including myself) spent a lot on some of these equips-fishing pole itself is worth a few bil, I spent 28k nx on a maple bandana blue, etc.
A lot of the equips also signify that you've been playing for a while.
It's like giving away a MoB to everyone.

Ah, I suppose you have a point there. If these aren't time limited, it would ruin the sentiment of those old collectibles; however, I just can't bring myself to agree, as time-limited rewards make me feel like I'm being taunted for putting any effort into getting them.

Why is everyone saying we'll be going to old Masteria?

I was commenting on him wanting bigfoot. Nowhere in my statement did I say I believed old Masteria would be released once again.

1. Shakar is ok with updates on KMS compared to Max and is ok with GMS, but he is quite a pessimist. Most of his blog entries always end up negative. Plus, He'll say biased theories with lack of proof whatsoever and back it up as fact. An example is that he tells us that the Pirate Hero is a girl because the Pirate teacher is a girl too, so because of that, it's a stone cold fact.

2. If you seen him on Basil, he's notorious also for his attitude and rudeness. It's that which has gotten him banned from here and Leafre (I think).

I just realized that level 35 and 43 Maple weapons probably don't drop anymore. Kind of interested in the whole past thing.

I give, this blast-to-the-past caught my interest. It's hard to imagine what sort of method they'll conjure up to make this work, but I can't wait to actually see it

I was reading various posts on here and other forums, and kept seeing all this talk about "a month dedicated to fixing bugs".

Honestly, I read this announcement many times:

It...didn't occur to me that they were talking about game bugs. I thought the bug monsters pictured were invading town or something. *sigh.*


Also, if the Bounty Hunter events is hinting at yet another alien-themed event, I'll pass. Hell, Why not just give us rocket ship mounts and some planets to explore next?

I love bug fixes, they're usually my favorite part of any patch, which is sorta sad...

But then again, I refuse to get my hopes up. YOU CAN'T DISAPPOINT ME IF I DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING!

Anyways...This blast from the past event seems promising. Might as well give it a shot..
As for the "bug-squishing.." can you add Town lag to that list?

This event makes that even more so, but I guess it you put it under the guise of old maple, people are too blind to notice. What happened to wanting the genuine experience back? This is the furthest thing from it; the "old maple" this patch gives presents everything that the veterans hate about new maple under a very weak facade of "hey look, it's old maple!11!!!11one!"

If we got a new area with the same exp and drops, people would do nothing but whine about it despite having equal content. So really, I think people need to make up their mind about what they want. The genuine "old maple" experience that will never come back because it went to hell along with the community?

Only this has nothing to do with wanting the largely imagined "golden age" back. I, and a great many other veterans, actually miss the maps out of nostalgic reasons. A trip down memory lane is a great idea for an event, if executed in a decent fashion. I have no idea what you are actually against here.

What CarrionCrow said. Perhaps I'm getting a little optimistic here, but it also opens up the possibility of some interesting quests. If you think this update gives us veterans everything we hate about the new Maple under a very weak facade, then maybe your grasp on what veterans like and hate about the game today isn't as strong as you think.

I would gladly wander around old Victoria, and I've been here since v0.04. Not all veterans care about the training or the skill aspects of old MS, a good majority of us just miss the old map layouts.
