Teachers tell us to only use Wikipedia as a last resort. Anybody can edit it, which is kind of a major flaw.

Forums aren't blocked, but if you keep going on them they'll notice. Facebook/ Myspace are blocked. Youtube and other video sites are throttled[/COLOR]

Once you come across something on there that you KNOW it's false, you're not gonna be trusting that pomegranate anymore lol.

Sure "chaotic behavior has been observed in the laboratory in a variety of systems including electrical circuits, lasers, oscillating chemical reactions, fluid dynamics, and mechanical and magneto-mechanical devices" sounds right but is it?

My high school blocked a lot of sites that was frequently being visited by the students,(AOL, myspace/facebook/livejournal/tweeter/beebo etc.) b/c the students wouldn't be paying any attention :f6: I trust wikipedia.. to an EXTENT! Granted that people can edit it, but there's footnotes where the information came from so I just compare info if I have a paper to write.

Lol, when I need info, I go to Wiki and look it up, then scroll down to the references and use those for research.

You don't use Wikipedia for technical research, but most of the content on general knowledge and culture is accurate. If you're looking up stuff like the First Law of Themodynamics, you can be pretty damn sure that the information on the page is accurate. The argument that "anyone can change it, so it's not valid" doesn't hold ground, because most attempts to falsify information on an oft-visited page get removed almost immediately. Erasing entire pages is meaningless, because of the history for each page. The Internet works better than you might think.
