Zelkova's Minecraft Server!
LadyJenJen Wrote:The nether problem has nothing to do with Keith. That probably happened in the most recent update along with the terrain generator change, you know, the reason why all that snow is in your area now and wasn't before. It's a big lost, but there's nothing we can do about it. Nor did we intend for it to happen.

*Edit* I just went into the Nether through the Town Portal. There's a whole tunnel system and a netherwart farm and everything. I hardly believe it was wiped. Either your area was disturbed by the new generator, your nether wasn't fully loaded, or there's been a mix up with portals and you've gone to a new area in the nether. That's the only explanation I have for you. I'd appreciate it if you'd come talk to Keith or I personally next time before pointing fingers at us for something we'd never do without consent. We didn't touch the nether.

Alright, as I had mentioned in my post, I saw the update as one of the possibilities,(Sorry it seems that part of what I wrote did not make it to my final post as I was correcting grammar or something) so if that is the case of it I can understand. It was clearly wiped though. Jon had gone in and replaced a small bit of it in his recent excursion, but there were over 13 separate portals that connected everyone's places together. I still have the sheet of paper I wrote down the coordinates on so that I could line everything up perfectly, so in being in the same exact location where it once was, I can easily see that is gone.

Again, I do not blame either of you, but both of your responses seem a little strong. I don't believe my behavior has been such that I've still held a grudge of any sort over what happened in the last iteration of the server, so please try not to treat me as if I am a threat. I apologize myself for that initial reaction not explaining my full intent, but all the same I hope you understand the aggravation of loss.

For note if anyone feels like rebuilding it, here are the co-ords (I really don't have time to do it myself):
Code:
Spawn x23 y34 z48
Suiko Castle x138 y24 z23
Sky Pad x21 y59 z21
Stronghold x50 y36 z-55
Stargate x64 y78 z60
Goof's/New Haven x16 y34 z-49
Yokuyin's x-31 y33 z67
Another Spawn? (On the paper, I dunno) x8 y39 z30
Main Village x40 y39 z37
Underground Home W? x16 y21 z19
Zelkova's x6 y36 z91
All-Seeing Eye x143 y67 z-20
Plus the one that led to an established island who knows where from the old ruins, and another to a random location that I'd forgotten that was going to be dedicated to dragon quest stuff since people were apparently interested in that.  And I think a few more popped up since I made those, so the list likely goes on.

Mainly the "What the Hell?" to start it off your post is what made it seem angrier than I guess you intended. We're not mad, but we don't like fingers being pointed for things we didn't do. I'm sorry about the portals though. We'll help you rebuild if we can.

I don't know if this is a result of the update or someone's shenanigans... but...

How come my castle has like 30 chickens in the courtyard? D:

Chickens were a byproduct of updating. I got chickens ALL UP IN MY HOUSES!

To whoever posted that sign in that extremely long underground tunnel just above the bedrock layer starting around x800 z400:

I have no idea what I intend to do with that. I just kinda dug in a straight line for a really long time.

The core to that hole has been completely dug and flatlands prep-ed. The current plan is to make a basic wood home, but 16x larger and have people come and bore holes in the walls and furniture and stuff to live in as a sort of new community home since the primary village is starting to get overcrowded just a bit. However, I am open to suggestion. The only criteria it needs to meet to replace my current idea are:
-Designed for custom community living so that everyone can make their own little personal space.
-The outside remains something that could stand out, but is not an absolute waste of space (ie, people can live throughout rather than just a facade with a square core).
-It can ONLY be created with space gained by going the full height limit both up and down.

Quite honestly, I REALLY, REALLY need to be doing other things with my time, but I'd like to at least see some of my larger projects come to fruition first.

Remaining Project List:
-Primary (Suikoden themed) Castle - A must
-Big Hole for something - point of post
-Copy of this near desert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDo4-eKeB...re=related
-Desert to Mycellum PVP arena
-The End rebuildable maze and access tunnels to a sprite zone well in the distance enclosed by bedrock. It would have to be about 1000x1000 or so to keep people satisfied for a while.
-Ruined Future Domes (Chrono Trigger) in the same Mycellum area mentioned above
-Cliff city made through the same method I made the hole
-Expansion of tunnel system so that it doesn't just end at my place and has alternate paths to lead to the various structures going along the same route
-Rebuild of the Nether Network
-Modern City
-Moon from Majora's mask over one of the villages with the tree meadow within
-Jungle Tribal Village (once that update hits)
-Other possible recreation of early RPG cities
-Getting my life back from this game again... also a must

Slimes kept glitching while I was trying to place the floor, and the only way to get rid of them was with a boom.

I've been lazy lately xD It's almost done, just needs a few more buildings and more work on the markets and decorations. The homes carved into the overhang are done, they just need to be furnished.

Wally has been working on the next city that's connected through the back waterfall. It's a chinese or something themed neighboring city.

If you guys care, xD my city is being built in Sphax PureBD texture pack, and the neighboring city is being built in the LG Realism texture pack.

*Edit* I also need to finish the underwater homes and walkways.

So i had an idea of moving the wheat farm from the village to above the animal farm so we would have a lot more room. Also that city is a lot closer to the main village than I originally thought.

Nether Network reconstruction in progress. New version is a surface loop that will be far more structured than the prior "an individual path for A - B" type. The initial portal will have to be removed for more accurate placements; since as it stands, you can enter the same portal and exit 4 different places in a row with that one there.

Thank Mimice for starting the construction him/herself. I just helped out a bit here and there. Welcoming any and all suggestions for design and structure of the paths outside the ring. As a reminder to those building gates, keep in mind how close your neighbor's is. If you are too close, full functionality of the gates will not be present (IE you can get back to your place from the nether, but your gate might not take you to the right one IN the nether).

And I really need to stop having MC on the mind. I just thought of yet another idea, and it happens to be one I haven't actually seen done before in MC (personally). Anyone remember that black velvet stage in Psychonauts? I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to make a Black Velvet styled city in MC before. Unfortunately, I don't have enough ideas in that area to even start on that kind of project (nor the time really), but I think the results could be awesome. Color scheme would be something like black, magenta, teal, yellow or something like that with a few accents here and there.

Laggy lag, lag, lag. I never usually have this problem, and didn't click twice either.

Nether Network as restored as it will be for now. 100% more floor. I do not want to destroy that spawn area in the Nether without permission, so I've done what I can there. Yes, there aren't roofs over any of the paths, but at the very least you won't have to worry about the ground beneath your feet falling out from under you. Also, likely late in discovering this, but the Nether layout is exactly the same as it was before. Took me a while to tell since the first time I went in there was after a lot of construction and destruction to the natural formations. Found the initial Ruins that we discovered with 3-4 spawners, and reconnected the path to it. Also, I was lucky enough that the co-ords for the gate we made there matched perfectly to one of our lost gates, so that one has been restored as well.

On that note, for anyone desiring an aquatic area to explore and build in, the gate in that path will lead to an undeveloped territory fresh for creativity. Also, if anyone finds the gate labeled inverted something, change the area surrounding it to mimic that of the surface world.

That seriously has to be the last new project I involve myself with for a while though; what with working (hopefully) again soon.
