Hey guys, I'm Slaking. I just joined the Minecraft server.
I'm not too active right now due to homework, just thought I'd introduce myself a bit since I don't post on the forums that often.

The freeze was far more devastating than initially thought.
And from the left, it goes all the way to the edge of the initial village.

Jesus, what... Damn Dovahkiin using shouts to freeze everything. ;~;
What's that red spot in the top left of your map?

Jon Wrote:Oh, that. It looked too small to be that. -shrug- Yeah, I know. It was a far smaller version I made in half an afternoon (plus the time for the bonus hidey thing) of what I was building in Zelkova's other server that was ... a year ago? Anyway, I was bored and I couldn't find a better mountain range. FenixR Wrote:Finally got to my little house No problem. And good luck. Sorry for my ignorance on the matter of Skyrim, wanting it for console eventually and not having said consoles to begin with; but what does copious amounts of snow have to do with it?

Skyrim its a Realm covered with copious amount of snow, imagine the entire earth being a single snow biome, thats what i can deduce from the little knowleage i have picked up from comments in the skyrim thread (Never knew of the elder scroll saga before skyrim )

Somewhere here, someone mentioned a PVP area. I'm working on something that could easily double for that use once complete; but I'm curious; what sort of terrain would be preferable in that sort of situation? Flat or hilly? Barren, or full of ruins? With or without mob spawns (through use of blocks that disallow mob spawn)? With or without natural hazards? Enclosed or free entry/exit?
I also put out a request for map cropping. Are there any edges that people want kept for future building, or removed for new territory to explore? If all goes as planned, any area along the perimeter that does not have a surface structure will be removed. Lastly, I was thinking of using this opportunity to finish digging out the pit for that massive house/structure thing. Since doing it one block at a time was what got my motivations lost initially, having this chance allows it to become possible. Are there any objections to me reclaiming that land and building as intended? I know I put that offer out there before, so if anyone has any desires for it first, I will back off on it. One more thing actually; making that last lastly not last; were there any major terraforming requests at the same time? If so let me know and create a border for the work to be done in. Only thing I don't think can be done is changing the biomes; this is still vanilla after all.

No progress to speak of on what I said earlier, but for now, the Nether Network is more or less complete. There are issues on which gate you wind up at from the outside, but they are entirely beyond my control. At the very least, every exit portal in the nether is correctly lined up with the listed portal on the surface. Now includes a portal from spawn and the initial village. If anyone else has a long distance home that they'd like a gate for let me know, but otherwise this should allow people to come and go to visit other developed areas with ease. No doubt it has helped already with me seeing 4! people on today at once. If people aren't too busy with Terraria, I'd encourage them to take a peek at all the other developed areas you haven't seen yet by using the Nether Network.

I placed some signs in the Nether network, hopefully people have no trouble finding the other portals.
Also there are walking some Zombie Pigman in our network, I have read that they only spawn on Netherrack and Soul Sand, so I was thinking of replacing the floors with Cobblestone (or any other resource other then those two).Also, is there an overall map of the server? I would like to see what our world looks like now, and where people placed their stuff.

Thought up a method for clearing out that pit for the giant's house, though I'll still need some help with getting the PVP area up and going depending once again on the preferences listed above along with the "easy" way of construction for the giant's house I mentioned to Zelkova. So, if anyone wants to explore a cross section of the earth with a mineshaft in it before the demolition squad finishes their work, now would be the time. Nothing at all in this land will be spared, including diamonds.
On another note, I've started amassing small insignificant homes along the sides of the roads so that travel from one area to another flows better rather than huge expanses of "where am I going?". Please assist in making whatever houselike/checkpoint like structures you can within our central territory along the roads. Made a road directly from spawn to the initial village as well. Overall, I just want whoever joins the server to not be turned off by how empty the immediate vicinity is, and there to be more to look at initially before exploring to the edges to build their own place and explore uncharted (figuratively) territory. I dunno, I just dumped a lot of time into this server and I'd like to see it more active. Granted finals this week, but beyond that, it'd be nice. P.S. Zelkova, a lot of people agree about creeper booms not being destructive. If possible, could we make it so that creepers and enders cannot cause damage to the area enclosed by -1000z, -1000x and 1000z, 1000x with a maximum depth of 20 below the surface or that is to say anything above 44? This limitation would still put deep exploration at risk, but would not cause constant damage to the infrastructure. Those holes aren't repairing themselves you know. >.> Yeah I'm that OCD about it, buzz off.

So zelkova no interest in installing any interesting mod?
Was just thinking about it since mods are catching up to 1.0, im just waiting for Industrial craft to update to 1.0 to start downloading the new updates from my old 1.8 minecraft + a few other goodies (Wondering how imma gonna do, since my old list used almost all of my Blocks IDs)
