Jump! Update: The Spell of Awakening.
#1
Okay, I have several questions I need to ask to get ready for the Jump! Update.

Several mages skills get improved, removed and changed from jobs. For example, the Arch Mages (Fire, Poison) get the skills Arcane Aim and Mist Eruption in 4th Job, while Mana Reflection in 4th Job is removed and Fire Demon is changed from 4th job to 3rd Job.

So, one of my question is, what happens to the mastery books and the skills? For example, if I have used the mastery book Fire Demon 20, will my Mist Eruption skill be up to lvl 20? And what happens to the mastery book Fire demon 20? Does it get changed into etheir Mist Eruption or Arcane Aim or does it becomes completly useless? Same for Mana Reflection?

Also, for the Arch Mage (Fire, Poison) Skill build, I'm wondering which way should I go. I can't decide if to max Paralyze or Mist Eruption first (After Arcane Aim and Buff Mastery of course). The reason I'm debating this is because the boost Mist Eruption gives to Poison Mist, which gives Poison Mist a total of 440% DoT. So perhaps having lvl 1 Paralyze and maxed Mist Eruption at first would improve my training. Or I could do lvl 1 Mist Eruption and Max Paralyze, so I can have the best active damage I can get.

Here is my rough translation of the Arch Mage (Fire, Poison) 4th Job skills after Jump! Update. Got the help from Google translate.

 Spoiler

I don't have questions for the Ice Lighting because I find more useful to max Chain Lighting over Glacial Chain, having Glacial Chain at lvl 1.

Thanks for the help!

As long as the Skill ID stays the same (which it does), the points transfer. I'll use Chaos as an example.
I had level 30 Sudden Raid when Chaos hit. After Chaos, I had level 30 Blade Fury.
But... I had level 20 Upper Stab before Chaos, but after Chaos, I had level 0 Upper Stab, and 20 free Skill Points.
Do you see the difference? Upper Stab had a new Skill ID, and was moved to a different job.
Skillbooks and Mastery Books work the same way, Chains of Hell 10 turned into Phantom Blow 10, and Sudden Raid 30 turned into Blade Fury 30.
I can't really give advice on builds.

Exactly, though I think I said my question wrong. I want to know if the Skills ID remains, which skills, and which doesn't. I can't seem to find this info anywhere.

Nexon Korea stated that your points will transfer for certain skills in their patch notes, like Achilles DrK -> Dark Impale. You have to hope Nexon America does it.

Mana Reflect->Arcane Aim is the only skill that results in a new ID. The way in which books will transform should be self explanatory.

OH, okay, meaning that the fire demon skill ID changes into Mist Eruption? What about 3rd job fire demon? It gets new ID?

And at post avobe, couldn't find what skill points of what skills get move into what new skills.

Fire Demon takes Element Composition's ID, but a moot point given the circumstances.

Please explain it for the slow among us. What will happen to existing Mana Reflection books if the skill is removed and Arcane Aim has a new/different ID?

Mana reflection books will become arcane aim books.
Users who passed mana reflection 20/30 will need to re-purchase these books.

Fire Demon -> Mist Eruption
Elemental Composition -> Fire Demon
Mana Reflection -> Arcane Aim (all three magician classes get this, btw)

Not entirely sure what's happening with the points from Partial Resistance and where we're getting points for High Wisdom.

I agree with you on the 1 Paralyze and then maxing Mist Eruption, but I'm not sure maxing Arcane Aim before them both would be a good idea since it's mainly a bossing skill and you won't notice as big of a damage increase while training as you would while bossing. Note that the party bonus is removed from LHC/Future Ereve so that's something to consider in your skill build.

If I remember correctly:

Partial Resistance -> Extreme Magic (FP / IL), Partial Resistance's effect get's moved to Ifrit & Elquines respectively.

Slow max 20 SP -> 10, so there's your 10 for High Wisdom on FP/IL. As for Cleric, Holy Arrow 30 SP -> 20 which doesn't do anything cause practically everyone leaves it level 1, so you'll have to probably sacrifice some SP from MP Eater.

Yeah, but Monster Park monsters have the same def as the monsters in LHC, no? I did think about that, but the ignore def of arcane plus the damage bonus is way to good.

So it would be between:

1 Paralyze 1 Mist Eruption 1 Meteor Shower -> Buff Mastery -> Arcane Aim -> Max Mist Eruption ->Max Paralyze - > Ifrit ->Infinity -> Meteor Shower ->Big Bang

1 Paralyze 1 Mist Eruption 1 Meteor Shower -> Buff Mastery - Arcane Aim ->Max Paralyze -> Max Mist Eruption -> Ifrit ->Infinity -> Meteor Shower ->Big Bang

1 Paralyze 1 Mist Eruption 1 Meteor Shower -> Buff Mastery - Max Mist Eruption -> Max Paralyze -> Max Arcane Aim -> Ifrit ->Infinity -> Meteor Shower ->Big Bang

1 Paralyze 1 Mist Eruption 1 Meteor Shower -> Buff Mastery - Max Paralyze -> Max Mist Eruption -> Max Arcane Aim -> Ifrit ->Infinity -> Meteor Shower ->Big Bang

And MW between this order. I can't see which way to go.

EDIT: At avobe, you are right about those skills, but I don't think sacrificing MP Eater as clerics is needed, they don't have slow, and Heal max level gets to 20 too. I think, need to confirm.

Yeh, Heal gets lowered from 30 -> 20 too, so no need to sacrifice MP Eater. Fault on my part.

I/L's build is more easier to manage compared to F/Ps but I think you'll need Big Bang earlier according to the jump dpm analysis thread: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=42522

I/L and Bishop's big bang are still irrelevant but its different for F/P due to their additional DoT.

Going by this:
Quote:F/P: Best DPS is to spam Paralyze and cast Mist Eruption when it is off cool down, recasting Mist after it is detonated, and keeping Big Bang and Fire Demon DoT timers up

I would change

Quote:1 Paralyze 1 Mist Eruption 1 Meteor Shower -> Buff Mastery - Max Paralyze -> Max Mist Eruption -> Max Arcane Aim -> Ifrit ->Infinity -> Meteor Shower ->Big Bang

into

Quote:1 Paralyze 1 Mist Eruption 1 Meteor Shower -> Max Buff Mastery - Max Paralyze -> Max Mist Eruption -> Max Arcane Aim -> Max Infinity -> Max Big bang -> Max Ifrit- > Meteor Shower

I can't see a definitive build when it comes to bossing since there's a lot of varying builds players can
make from this.

At least that way players can have one that fits their preference instead of everyone following a set guide.

I will max Ifrit before infinity, since I found the cd to be quite annoying, and I won't be bossing as much as training with my F/P as I will be with my Evan.

But I though fire DoT's didn't stacked with my own Poison DoT's, but they did with other players. I was wrong then. I should change Big Bang fbefore meteor then, though I can't still choose between Paralyze and Mist Eruption. then.

I would max paralyze before mist eruption.

Seems to be a better option than the additional % for mist's DoT and its going to be your main
training/bossing skill.

Irrevelent but, why on earth did you max sudden raid at 14x :f6:

Arcane Aim only activates after you've attacked a monster 3 times, so it may be difficult to keep it activate while training. While bossing, on the other hand, you're continuously attacking the same thing, so it will be active the entire time.
