Mine was 4/10 first try. I figured out all but question 5, 8, 9 and 10. Can any of you explain? EDIT: found 9 and 10 w00t!

I got 7/10.

Missed 9 cause I misread and didn't realize it said "2nd greatest area". Missed 2 cause I was too lazy to draw a diagram. Not sure about 5.

#10 is easy: setup an equation based on the problem

20 - x = 3 ((x+20)/2 - 1.5 - x)
solve: x = 11

Can you tell how you got 5 and 8?

Ok say the first simultanious bounce is t=0. Then
spring A bounces at t= 2, 4, 6, etc.
spring B bounces at t= 5, 10, 11, etc.
spring C bounces at t= 9, 18, 27, etc.
To find consecutive bouncing, we need to find two of spring B and C to bounce after each other, since spring A will always be present at one of the ends.
First one is 9 and 10, so 8, 9, 10 is ACB
Second one is 35 and 36, so 34, 35, 35 is ABC
third is 54 and 55, so 54, 55, 56 is CBA

=> answer is CA? Nope, it's supposed to be C and C...? :^/

I think I'm misunderstanding this one. If you think the moon as a clock, would the sattelite be moving: from 12 to 1, 2, ... to 12 again, then suddenly jump back to 9, and move around to 9, jump back to 6, and so on?
In that case, he would need 3 and 3 quarters of a cycle:
First orbit after 1.25 cycle, second after 2.5, third 3.75 which is 30 hours.
But the answer is 36 hours?

For 5, you missed the one where it's 25, 26, 27 for BAC respectively.

For 9 it's perimeter meaning you have to remove from all four sides, not removing 6 from the dimensions, so you have to remove 1 from the 10 side and 2 from the 15 side since you need to get the 2nd largest area.

For 10, halfway between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm is 3:30 pm, 1.5 hrs before that is 2:00 pm. The amount of time between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm is 3 hrs, the amount of time between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm is 9 hrs.

9) Yea I just now realized I mistranslated perimater, somehow thinking it was "reach". lol

10) Oh you just did trial and error? Why didn't I think of that xD I solved it with algebra: 20-x = 3*( (1/2)(x+20)- 1.5 - x) => x=11 dam ninjad

I got an 8! I'm fucking happy. I'm sure nigguhs like 21 and hadriel and Noah can do better but I'm happy with my 8! I might not understand their complex calculus (yet *wink at 21*) but at logic I'm not too shabby.

I got the one with the satellite and the one with the 1/2 of blah blah is something, 1/2 of blah BLAH is something wrong.

LOL I laugh at holypie using the multiple choice answers to deduce the answer for number 10. Weak sauce.

I drew a little chart.

Now----------------------8 PM

Let's call the distance between Now and 8PM X.

Mark your midpoint, and then 1.5 hours before that is a value, let's call it K.

X = 3K according to the question.

And then abuse your chart, the first little distance between Now and K is X/3, the distance between K and midpoint is 1.5 hours, and the distance between midpoint and 8 PM is X/2.

So then the first half, X/3 + 1.5 = X/2

And solve x as 9. 9 hours before 8 PM is 11 AM.

Damn straight I'm a genius.

Draw a Venn diagram. Then try to modify the bubbles to make it work.
A is possible since nowhere is said Spades can't be Nods.
C is possible because both are half Spade, so no contradictions.
D is not possible, because if all looms are Rims, half of them must be Nods.

missed 2 and 4

i don't care about 2... anyone want to explain 4? specifically, from the statement i wrote 2 equations that reduced to x=2n, so x must be even. why is that wrong?

edit: nevermind, there's no integer condition stipulated...

the trick i used for 5 was to ask myself when multiples of 5 within 2 of a multiple of 9... 9, 10 ; 18, 20 but 19 is odd ; 27, 25 and 26 is even ; 36, 35 ; 45, 45 ... ; 54, 55 ; etc

The satellite now needs to travel 3/4 of the way around to complete 3 orbits, and 3/4 * 8 = 6 hours.
36 hours: Satellite completes 3 orbits.

You didn't write things down??? I had pineappleing excel open when I made lists to compare the times LOL.

And HolyPie man, idk if it was a standardized test or whatever, do whatever it takes to win, but this was a logic test for nothing. It's more fun to not use the answers.

Let me ask you, could you have done these questions without the answers (except the ones that were like "which of the following is false" ones) there?
