"During this time, it also enables you to attack higher level monsters than usual."
"(Cygnus Knights) can easily operate in Party Quests or in dungeons geared for level 140-150 characters. A well-equipped Cygnus Knight played by a good player can even do well in dungeons rated for level 160. "
Source
Now, of course, this could be utter nonsense spouted out, or maybe the skill always had this ability.
(I don't keep up with KMS enough to know.)
But, if this is to be taken for face value, it could shake up training in a major way.
Based on the information in the blog, it apparently gives a minimum of 40 levels worth of accuracy.
Seriously, who needs UA Skills when you can drag a 51 to Zakum, have it hit each arm once, and pull in the XPs?
Then, later, you would be able to skip the awful training maps in favor of larger mobs.
This is pretty much the most exciting part of UAs to me. Would mean that being over-powered wouldn't be crippled by accuracy issues.
Long live the reign of sniping monsters from afar.

Acornstory - Only good thing about it is to make trolling people easier.
Trust me, its only in acornstory, not in the main game.

Hmmm, it means Cygnus can possibly Horntail, but it still stops them from taking on anything stronger. I see this as a way to give Cygnus characters a little more mileage. However, in the long run a non-Cygnus character is still best for bossing thanks to higher level cap.

AcornStory Wrote:The major benefit for Cygnus Knights comes at level 120, the nominal level cap for the class. When you reach max level for your Knight and go through your final Job Advancement, you should report to your class trainer on the island of Ereve. There you will receive two new skills:
Empress' Shout: This is a passive skill that automatically and permanently increases your Hit Points and Magic Points dramatically.
Empress' Prayer: This is an active skill that may be used once per day. When used, it drastically increases your Attack and Magic Attack stats for two real-world hours. During this time, it also enables you to attack higher level monsters than usual. Unlike other buffs, the Empress's Prayer cannot be eliminated or dispelled by anything until the two real-world hours have expired. The buff will even last through a character's death and resurrection.
...
The addition of these three skills means that Cygnus Knights can now play in and acquit themselves well in boss raids and against monsters that were previously out of their reach. The implication is that you can hit higher-level things with Empress' Prayer active. It is also implied that Empress' Prayer is only given to level 120 Cygnus Knights.

um unless im reading this wrong, the cygnus knight gets this move at 120, its max level and the buff is not a party buff from the sound of it. I dont see what the big deal is.

I think the writer thought that the level limitation/lack of power is what was holding back CKs from taking on higher level bosses, but it's really just the accuracy formula, which the writer doesn't seem to understand.

For once, I think AcornStory is accurate. As for how accurate I don't know.
Empress's Prayer
Description: [Master Level : 1] ATT and Magic ATT are temporarily increased for 2 hours, and you can attack higher level monsters than usual. The effect remains even after the character dies, and it cannot be canceled by monster skills. \n#cCooldown: 1 day#
Max Level: 1
| 1 | MP Cost: 30, Weapon and Magic ATT +4% |
The skill data makes no reference to how many people it can affect, but from the looks of it the skill is a party skill. It has FSAoE a la ArchMage Ultimates.
So it looks like it replaces CKs Echo skill to make it much more worthwhile. I don't know how it affects the accuracy formula, however.

So how much higher level monsters can you hit?

You guys are reading too much into it. The prayer is just self non-dispellable echo for 2 hours, which should stack with the real echo. Remember Cygnus gets 60 more aps compared to other level 120s, putting them effectively to level 132. And since their skills mirror their 4th job counterparts with partial nerfs, it can be seen as having 10-20 levels advantage compared to a starting 4th jobber at 120. Empress Prayer's 4% can be analyzed as level 132 * 1.04 = level 137 ish, which is why acornstory suggests 140-150, and even 160.
But Nexon forgot something: damage penalty and accuracy formula.

If this is true, and it does affect party members in the same way, that would be really really awesome. I don't know and real applications for it though. I was going to use it for the 4% attack though i can't cast it on myself. Maybe training characters on new accounts?

Is Empress Prayer a party skill? Would be pretty neat if it was, otherwise it has no use.
Edit: Ah nvm, I reread.

As for the "dramatically increases HP/MP" skill ("Empress's Shout"), it's not so dramatic. It's 20% and it doesn't appear to be a party skill.

Dawn Warriors have the short stick of it because of IS being the new 4job skill for heros and brandish being moved to 3job.

Isn't that a passive skill anyway? I swear I read that somewhere. Maybe.
But yeah... Empress's Prayer sounds much more significant that we first thought. But if that is so, why did we not see this coming when this whole UA thing started to appear in KMST and went in full force in KMS?

I do, however, know that this is twice in a row that you've attempted to correct me without anything meaningful to add.
I did note that this could be utter nonsense, but apparently you just get your kicks by trying to be a smartass.

Meanwhile, your explanation involved reading into the blog far more than any other explanation here.
As for damage penalty, I was just having a conversation with my brother about that. Can someone confirm that damage penalty still exists?
Fiel Wrote:As for the "dramatically increases HP/MP" skill ("Empress's Shout"), it's not so dramatic. It's 20% and it doesn't appear to be a party skill. Well, that one is a passive skill anyway. Wouldn't expect it to affect your party.

There are sometimes things that get "lost in translation" though.

The arrow is basically a way to quote. Used to point out faults in an indirect way.

I have a 120 cygnus so we can just cast on each others characters.

facepalm.jpg Ah. So like paraphrasing what was just said in a way to point out flaws.

This is true but i'm almost 170. There aren't a lot of things i can kill with it, although being able to 100% hit grandpa and toad boss would be WONDERFUL...
