Window Mode / Nvidia

Ok, I got a new videocard. Nice and fast... (EVGA 9500GT, running the latest drivers obtained from NVidia website)

But MS will not go into window mode anymore. If I press Alt+Enter, nothing happens. No error, no sound, nothing. Stays full screen. This has happened since I rebooted, after installing the drivers.

If I go to the System menu, and choose "Window mode" it doesn't do anything.

Anyone know what would cause this, or if there's some way I can force MS to start up windowed? I can't train in fullscreen mode so I'm kinda stuck with killing bosses for now (when I train, the Windows Calculator randomly launches... never happens when I'm at a boss. Dunno why. But it takes 4-5 seconds for MS to minimize, then reopen, if it's fullscreened)

I would gladly give up fullscreen entirely, I'd rather play only in a window.

There may be something in the nVidia control panel that forces some applications to be full screen.

Are you running on Windows 7? If so, then MS likes to act up with it and you have to set up a custom resolution in the Nvidia control panel[Display --> Change Resolution --> Customize --> Create Custom Resolution --> near the bottom of the new window you need to select manual instead of automatic and add the 60.001 to the Hz section in the newly expanded bottom right corner). Any higher than 60.001 on a 60 Hz monitor could mess up your monitor/hardware.

This method works for me be occasionally makes MS unstable in the process of switching between modes, the game becomes invisible but I can't click the desktop on the square region where the window mode would be and have to terminate the maplestory.exe process. Be aware of that before you attempt switching during bossing, 2x buff, etc.

I'm running Windows XP still. I tried doing a custom resolution but it didn't make a difference, and I don't see any options to force full screen :x

I uninstalled all my graphics drivers and reinstalled them, rebooted a few times, and it's working again. Shrug.

What exactly do you mean by "it's working again", did that fix the problem?

seems the Fn lock accidentally turn on?
are you using a notebook? or keyboard with extra keys?
