They aren't f'ucking them over: they're balancing something that wasn't balanced. And dual blades wern't fucked; they were improved in general.

Didn't Bowmasters get a new skill as well? You also forgot to mention that SE was nerfed for both archer classes, not just Bowmasters.

Chameleonic Wrote:Lol you may think that in fantasy Mathland, but in the real world those DPS figures are practically meaningless. There's gota be a reason why most Hurricane using Bowmaster level a lot quicker than Marksman, and tha fact there is like 10x more lv 200 BM than MM.

I imagine Hurricane using Bowmasters kill bosses faster and that could help level faster. As for the 200 thing, there are probably 20x as many BMs as there are MMs so it makes sense that there'd be more of them at max level.

I've also seem BM mow down OB Guardians in TT (or Skelys)faster than a MM can mob and pierce them.

UNTIL DMG FORMULAS ARE PUBLISHED AND SEE SOME NUMBERS RUNNING THERE IS NO WAY TO DETERMINE IF ANYTHING IS BUFFED OR NERFED

This is false.

The moves that had their % damage reduced, had the damage reduced. It will do less damage, regardless of what stat or formula that ability has (assuming the formulas dont get an entire rewrite). The percent-based moves are based on a certain stat, and the moves that were nerfed will now do less damage than before. The only way to make it do more damage is to change the way the stats work, in regards to Str for warriors, luk for thieves, w. atk for all melee classes, etc. So far we're un-aware if that has happened, so for right now this second the abilities that got reduced will do less damage. Period.

In saying that this is only the very first revision of the patch. I'am 100% sure we will see more changes and more clarifications in regards to formulas, abilities damage, the new accuracy and magic accuracy system, the new experience formula, etc.

Seriously though wtp @ the new berserk. As it is now Berserk doubles you damage when at lvl 30. Now it only increases your damage by 30%. What? In addition to spears and PA's being slow, their damage will go down even further. To keep DrK's damage where it was with the previous berserk, they would need to buff the damage of Crusher or Fury. But they did the opposite; they nerfed it. There must be a variable in this equation I'am not aware of.

I have faith they wont ship this patch out without getting all their ducks in a row. Overall I'am very excited about this patch. I'am so glad they are taking emphasis off crits for damage, and giving crit talents to more classes.

Also, I for one am very happy to see cooldowns being added to ultimates. With cooldowns added now, this means nexon will be giving mages and bishops more reasons to use their other abilities for training. Training could actually be interesting and engaging again for mages!

Cause NExon wont let me access it. Rolleyes

I mainly play devils advocate because most people are blinded and go "OMG SNIPE MAKE MM SO GOOOOD!@!!@"...when it really isnt as great as it looks on paper when you use it in everyday playing.

Wow I'm late to this. But i really should clarify.

The current SE says it adds 40% damage. But we know that it's really +140% damage to classes with base crit (totaling 240% damage per normal arrow hit).

So he's assuming that +10% damage will follow this same line. Kinda difficult to say whether or not this should be assumed. After all, it's how the current SE works... but on the other hand, they might nerf that aspect of SE as well.

Also, as for base crit... we only know it's 40% rate... we can't tell if it's +100% damage.

If we assume it is, BMs get an increase according to Loz's calculations. If it's lower then BMs will not be stronger... but instead they'll be roughly the same (perhaps just a bit weaker % wise).

But the point is that with potential scrolling you'll be ridiculously strong anyways.

So in the end we think it'll be a gain.

To compensate for the lack of Critical that they now have. If you strip current NLs of their critical, their damage is horrible. Like, Mages would out damage them.

On the note of Meso Explosion, is it 180% per meso sack or per actual meso. Wording seemed a bit vague.
Sack: I drop 3 sacks of 10k mesos. Total Damage: 180% * 3
Actual Meso: I drop 3 sacks of 10k mesos. Total Damage: 180% * 30,000

The latter is just flat out broken....

Still, Pickpocket looks like it has a pratical use. Lawl.

I somewhat expect critical to be a multiplier for everyone so it doesn't favour multihit skills as much for average damage. The fact that they improved every skill's base % by such a large margin would imply that they removed the +100% from criticals; i.e. the new %s are equal to or higher DPS than the old %s with Critical Shot. Buffing every skill in the game to such extents is rather meaningless if SE still adds 110%.

It certainly doesn't look like it from that windarcher video that came out a little while ago, at least, not on the base crit rate. Could be different for regular archers, but I doubt it.

Edit: Yeah, on second thought, it's not worth trying to reply to chameleonic

Cactuar Wrote:No, you can safely say Shadowers were buffed unless their damage was sent from already pitiable to absolutely deplorable. 1360% > 500%, and unless that extra 860% is absolutely worthless under the new damage system that is a buff. Same goes for Boomerang Step (From 1000% x 4 Monsters to 1800% x 4 Monsters).

Same goes for any class where the raw increase/decrease in % from the skill can not be made up for without huge changes to the damage delt by said classes. For example: Dual Bladers. They lose out on about 700% on Fatal Blow. Unless their damage has been improved by 700% or so, that's a major nerf right there.

I personnaly hate the large influx shadower changes, Bstep to be exact. At this current time I don't know how fast this move is performed, but if its anywhere near as fast as the current Bstep, It will just lead to a large influx of bandwagoners which in turn will inflate shields and dagger scrolls beyond belief. I don't know about you, but I prefer being the underdog solo class and not something everyone and their cousin plays as a main.

but yes, just like Arroz said, this is still Tespia.

They werent broken, but with the new damage formula they would if they had kept their skills untouched, I guess.

One thing that I'm very concerned about is the "stun system" or whatever you want to call it. For a long time, I have been wondering who was the stupid designeer in Nexon's team that decided that the stun effect caused on monsters should disappear if said monster was attacker with a phisical attack, yet they also decided to give many of us (Mainly Crusader, white knights and the brawler branch) skills with stunning effects. Can someone confirm is stunning works the same way as always or if they realised about this flaw in the game and decided to fix it?

Even if it only lasted 3 seconds, it would be way better that what stunning does now.
