There was a similar show on TV few months/years ago but it was about a kid. The kid seemed to be just fine but when doctors went and checked him he wasn't. He had ulceras and bunch of stuff. Just look at the guy in this video, he's as skinny as an anorexic model. I guess that somehow you might be able to survive without eating or drinking but you won't be as healthy as someone that does.

It seems to be irrational to do this.
Unless it's for some religious scam to loot people's money. :/

Mom told me bout that while i was getting her her coffee. TBH, you can't live like that unless no eating or drinking doesn't include transfusions.
Looks like a sham or a scam or w/e

An update on this:

Quote:An Indian man has mystified a team of military doctors after he abstained from food and water for two weeks.

Prahlad Jani, an 82-year-old yogi who claimed he hadn’t eaten or drunk anything for 70 years , was observed by 30 medics in a hospital in the Indian state of Gujarat. He spent two weeks under constant surveillance in an area equipped with cameras and closed circuit television. During the 15-day period, which ended Thursday, Jani didn’t eat, drink or go to the toilet.

From AFP:

“We still do not know how he survives,” neurologist Sudhir Shah told reporters after the end of the experiment. “It is still a mystery what kind of phenomenon this is.”

“If Jani does not derive energy from food and water, he must be doing that from energy sources around him, sunlight being one,” said Shah. “As medical practitioners we cannot shut our eyes to possibilities, to a source of energy other than calories.”
The study was done by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the state defense and military research institute. They hope to unlock the key to Jani’s mysterious ability so that others can benefit, such as soldiers in the field, astronauts in space, and victims trapped in natural disasters.

Doctors performed several tests on Jani’s heart, lungs and memory capacity and took scans of his organs, brain and blood vessels. Lab work will also be completed on his hormones, enzymes, energy metabolism and genes. The findings will be revealed in greater detail over the next several months.

Jani claimed that he has not had anything to eat or drink since 1940, and called himself a breatharian, sustaining himself on air and meditation. According to AFP, Jani said he was given his special powers after being blessed by a goddess when he was young. After the observation and tests were completed, he returned to his village in northern Gujarat where he will continue his routine of yoga and meditation.

According to LiveScience.com, Jani was placed under observation once before in 2003, but lost weight over the week he was held.

Not sure if I believe this. I've been in Psychology class and there was an Indian man that could stay in a 'bolted down' metal room or cage, and he stayed alive for hours and hours and hours by taking in 'less' oxygen than the normal human. He learned how to control his nervous system or whatever. Supposedly, it was said that it was impossible to control certain bodily functions as such, but that certain man has proven doctors and scientists wrong. It was all documented, and everyone in the class watched the video on tape. I was surprised too.

Where is he getting his glucose and 8 essential proteins from! (human body can only create 12 out of 20)
Body doesn't work without those. Cells can't generate ATP to function.

perhaps those are not as "essential" as to the point that humans needs it to survive.
We still don't know all the conditions for human beings to die naturally, there's still a lot of mystery in this world.

や。Unfourtenetly, this is simply impossible, everything living must have a metabolism. His body would have literaaly eaten himself if this were somehow true.
Its just simply impossible, no ifs, what ifs, or maybes.

They get sick .____.
As I said...there was a kid doing the same, he seemed fine until non-indian doctors checked him; they said "LOL he's dying, you should really, REALLY, help him."
Yeah, they might survive longer than average human but they are not healthy, as Mielke said: "He ate himself up". That happened to the guy I'm talking about and probably to the guy in this thread as well.

On the ooother hand...in the show I saw the kid "owners" were making a fortune with him, when doctors said he was dying the "miracle child" "mysteriously" disappeared.

IMO: they're JUST stronger than average humans and they can survive longer without food but they DO need food and they DO get sick without it. Nothing special about it.
