Evan Coming 12/17 tomorrow // and .... more Q/A

No, one gives everyone nothing and the other gives us something that we can't enjoy because we actually played the game. I don't want to deal with noobs killing new awesome monsters when I can't do anything. All this new crap has made levels 1-70 a joke.

1. The initial effects of the "no content" and the "low level content" both affect the high level characters the same way-nothing.

2. Since when were noob monsters awesome? Papulatus, Zakum, Horntail and Pink Bean are way cooler than...Mano and Stumpy.

3. Assuming you played the same amount of time as a "noob," you'd still be a higher level than them, so you don't have to deal with them.

4. Yeah this new crap made levels 1-70 easier.

Yeah, I mean it's not like people hunt low level monsters for cards or anything.

I find most monsters to be cool. But when they take mid-high level content down to stuff for level 50, that bugs me. Neo Tokyo is one of the few things I'm really looking forward to, and one of the current versions has the nerfed version of it. That version also has the lower level Kerning Market we are getting. If the trend continues...

A bit late on getting into the conversation but,

King Wrote:so to counter those weakness you implement rebirth Big Grin

and a max HP washed NL is pretty much a godclass because they do the most dmg at boss and they can survive better than unwashed warriors...

rebirth is just a cheap way of eliminating the need of hp wash

There were a few other areas to quote, but I'm lazy atm. Anyway, first off, this is NEXON. If you are familiar with another NEXON game called Mabinogi, they have Rebirth. It costs NX. I quit Mabi after beta closed for this very reason. If you honestly think that NEXON would release something that would destroy a profit making system for FREE, you must have a few screws loose. More targeted at NEXON than you, so try not to take it personally.

Oh, that and destroying game balance, etc.

But I do agree with the point that Maple is outgrowing the system design it was raised on. While we all make our self-centered requests at "balance", it ultimately is destroying what was there in the prior age of Maple.

We want higher level mobs with stats increased proportionately for higher level characters, but then people can't hit/survive them. We want to be able to hit/survive all monsters, then we void the disadvantage that was there intentionally to create balance. We want melee classes to do more damage, and for some reason that doesn't work out Stunned.

Well, regardless, I don't believe that maple can continue to expand upwards since the design just doesn't work that way, like quantum mechanics and relativity. The only real way would be to redesign all stats, skills, and battle mechanics; ultimately making a new game. And... the way they've been shafting old players left and right, that doesn't seem to far from reality.

Oh, and anyone else spooked by that mention of adding PK to the game Frown.

Instant rebirth in Mabinogi costs NX, however, you can also rebirth for free if you're character is as least of age 18 and is a few weeks old in real time.

Rebirth has almost never been implemented in a REAL MMO as far as I know. It's a stupid idea, and if you want it, go back to your shitty private servers.

the first MMO i played (and i think the 1st existed too) is ragnarok which already have a rebirth system in its real server. when u get to 100 u get rebirth as a super novice and continue your journey with the same kind path that u chose but with stronger skills and such

Stereo Wrote:Other games call it CON or similar, and the only reason it's ridiculous right now is because of HP washing.

If having 5000 extra HP on your ranged class meant a drop of 250 AP, then you would be losing out on damage for the benefit of doing ridiculous things like walking on Zakum. Instead, it just means you spent a lot on int gear or NX.

And yes, there's an easy way to fix HP washing, but it'll make a lot of people mad (the ones who spent money on it)
1) reset all AP out of HP on all characters
2) re-generate character HP from level 1, based on normal gains.
3) (spend AP back into HP on those characters that had real points in HP, because Nexon hates givin out free resets)
The only tricky part is the 2 classes that get a skill HP-increase. But there's a fairly standard build in that respect (get them ASAP) which could be used when generating the HP values.

But people ruining their characters like that just makes me sad. It's not a necessary stat to add by any means and people should just learn to live without putting points into it.

I dunno, I figure it this way.

I have a level 122 Night Lord. I don't have enough HP to kill Papulatus on my own.
4 levels later, and 20 AP... I do have enough HP (actually it only took 16, but I heard about the 20 AP reset sale so I went for 20 on the spur of the moment, when I hit level 126).
Or... roughly 21 levels later, if I hadn't spent those AP.

I don't want to spend 17 extra levels training (200 hours, give or take - maybe more) so I can fight a boss that I could take down easily if I had the HP (yes it's possible without it, it's just more frustrating). It's not like NLs get awesome bossfight skillz the more they level up.

I only HP wash so I can enjoy the game more often. Having 13.4k HP let's me kill BF and fight back while being KSed, as well as allowing me to go do things all over the place without having to worry about dying.

Wear HP gear. Or just do it with HB.

I can't wear HP gear and use my weapon at the same time (iow. I lose way more than 20 luk when I switch from 61 casters to 30 atk Maple Claw), and how am I gonna have an HB mule survive in papulatus's room?

Why should I party just so I can hunt bosses? Adding HP works for me.

That's part of being a ranged class. Level up, gear up, dodge bombs, or party.

"This doesn't work for me" is not a good reason for the current system to exist.
