Exp Formula Returning Back To Normal?
#1
People have been saying that the exp formula will return back to normal in a few weeks after the Aran leveling event is over. Does anyone have any proof?

The developers from KMS just said they're not gonna change their formula back. I'd assume GMS would follow suit.

honestly did they even tell us about changing it in the first place?

Yeah, they just copied everything from MSEA so I think Nexon forgot to announce the change in the first place.

If they copied from SEA then we would have +3 booster at level 20 and 8% drain.

We got all this data from KMS.

MSEA get +3 booster at same lvl as GMS. and 5% drain same as GMS. the skill description in MSEA is outdated, but the skill effect is the updated one.

lol, i was training my 143 hero today on 4x exp for 4 hours. i wasn't lagging that badly and was with a bishop, only gained 1 level and 50% cause of the exp reduction. really now, i usually get 3 levels in 4 hours of 4x exp. they really messed up big time here.

No, they fixed an issue.

I wouldn't call that an issue. He said he was training WITH a bishop.
This new exp formula discourages partying.

They really should do it like trickster and have it a slight boost if you party with others.
Secondly, heres a solution: Put AoE's a slight cooldown ALONG with the old party exp formula.

I wouldn't count on it being changed back.

The issue that, before the formula change, if you'd left your hero afk with the bishop for 4 hours on 4x, it still would have levelled at least twice. i.e., leech.

I estimate that if you'd trained solo you would still have gotten less exp, maybe only one level but not the 50% more. So, party training with the bishop is still better for you than solo. It's just not 3/4 leech anymore.

If you flip that, the Bishop was getting more EXP people because they were pulling less dead weight. Training with another attacker instead of a Bishop is suddenly better EXP. Try out Obliv 2.

The formula is perfect.

It's funny how cool downs are everyone's solution. The problem with the old formula was that leechers got nearly as much exp as the killer. If you look at it from a designer's perspective, that doesn't really make sense at all.

For example, if you have a party with people who have similar killing speeds (let's say 2 Heroes), they won't be affect much, if even at all by the change since they balance each other out. However, if you have people with completely opposite killing speeds (let's say one AM and one NL), the old formula barely favored the faster killer, in contrast with the new formula, where it puts more of the exp pool in favor of the faster killer.

The ones who do get shafted unfairly by the new formula, are hime-ing priests.

They work hard, and risk their lives, luring and healing (and hs'ing) while the attacker kills. The new formula leaves them with very little exp for their troubles.

In fact, clerics and priests in party situations in general, suffer from this formula. It's not their fault they're not killing - that's the way their class is designed. It's a *support* class. Nexon should increase the amount of exp gained by Healing party members, to rebalance.

Hothead

Mages are already weaker at all other aspects and you're suggesting a NERF in the area where they shine. Why don't we nerf Triple Throw, Hurricane, and Battleship too! Tongue

this is exactly my problem with the new system, i'm lvl 88 and i have to solo mr anchors to train... and dk's are seeking out priests like no other except no priests want to hime anymore due to it being 1/2 the exp prior....

Just because a skill has a cooldown does not make it useless.

Those suggesting a cooldown aren't even necessarily suggesting a 10+ second cooldown. If i wanted a cooldown on an ultimate, i would be happy with a 3- second one, just because server latency would make it 7-10.
