Flame Wizards and Ele Wand 1
#21
Cyanne Wrote:No, level 200s still leech, so level 120 cygnuses should still leech.

I don't think elemental wand/staff 1/2 would boost damage when elemental reset is up, but I'm not sure.

When we're talking level differences, a 110 Blaze Wizard would allow the leecher to gain more exp than a 13x Arch Mage. Only problem is that the Blaze would be weaker due to nerfed amp, no level 130 lukless ele wand, and only level 20 meteo :/ Reset could be slightly useful for leeching people at Harps, and CG leeching a level 105 with a level 110 would be a cool idea. Probably not as fast as newts, but kind of comical Rolleyes
Also, anyone gonna estimate what my ele wand will be worth? >Sad

It'll definitely be worth more, though. ._.

Even if your ultimate could hit 200k, if there's no HS, most people will go to bishops or people with HS mules first. People won't pay the same price at the very least.

with how fast people can get to 120 today, theres going to be a ton of lvl 120 flame wizards right out the gate. the issue is, how many people are going to sink hundreds of millions of meso into a char they will play to 120 and most likely quit? while demand for the ele wand will go up, i doubt you'll see a ton of people willing to pay as much for a lvl 70 wand as they would for the 130 wand.

here in bellocan a few merchants have been buying them and trying to resell for 700m+, its insane, and pretty stupid. no one plays fire mages as it is (and for a reason). flame wizard, while overpowered for its level, isnt going to change the fact that most will still prefer playing/making bishops. it isnt going to become an active bandwagon class. everyone i know will be making one to get to 120 and get the skill bonus on their main, not actually playing them.

given how easy it is to leech a char to 120 and the ability to get an ultimate, you'll most likely see people go for the cheaper wands than put any real money into a souped up fire mage. if you want a ult account to sell leech with your still better off going with a bishop. the best skill flame wizard has is a poison skill anyway. the ultimate is too nerfed given the pot use and slower casting time vs genesis.

at this point i think it would be better off waiting through the initial tidal wave and waiting for the ele wand 1's to come down to a rational price. at the moment too many think they can make them into the next cash cow and are buying them at foolish prices to inflate. (IE a merchant i know here in bello who paid 400m for a crap scrolled one and is now trying to get 900m, or selling ele wand 1 for the same price as a 130 wand xD).

If it really doesn't boost damage with Reset (as it shouldn't), this would significantly lower ele wands 1's usefulness. It already isn't needed for Curtaining (aka 70-110), and many popular leeching/ultimate places require for you to use Reset, mainly harps, red wyverns, and possibly crimson guardians. Don't get me wrong, ele wands will still be useful for most everywhere else, but it's very possible to use an ele wand on a Blaze Wizard from 70-120 and never see a significant boost in training rate.

PS: does anyone know if ele wands would work with Curtain to boost damage? I'm guessing it should, though it's still sort of a moot point, seeing as how you'd still complete a full rotation in the same amount of time.

I'm just gonna put my 2 cents here:

Literally, what started as an innocent question on this thread simply went into a speculation-wh0ring thread. In MS, speculation over this possible attribute already drove Wand 1's prices by 200%+ once KoC were announced for the next patch (coming up in 2 days). In my server, Wand 1 - which was at one time less than 100m went up to the high 200m, inching towards the 300m, and going possibly beyond that.

Simply ridiculious. I understand people want pure stat characters to get the most out of them, but hell this is one case that just probably went too far. I'm a F/P AM that owns two elemental weapons, but seeing all this mayhem over how "omfg Flame Wizards are gonna own in training" and "omg they're gonna really benefit from Wand 1" or any comments similar to that just made me disguisted at how this has gone in a different (and wrong) direction.

Literally, this is not where you show how much $ you can bust out at one time to show that. Being materialistic isn't gonna bring you anywhere. Any well-equipped Flame Wizard, whether its a lukless, low-luk, or normal can still do as well as one who has a Wand 1. Its not the end of the world simply because you cannot obtain a Wand 1 and its "godly goodness".

Not to hate on anyone here, but people just need to go look at the facts first before they start spewing out things that may not be true.

25% won't benefit you much? Why would people max ele amp then?
I'm not saying that they're worth what people are selling them right now, but to say that Ele Wand 1's make no difference (what you said), although I'm not a mage, doesn't add up. If it can solidify a 2-hit to 100%, something of that sort, which it may very well do, even moreso.

I do understand the elemental bonus that Wand 1 gives - however, certain people blew it out of context and makes it a bigger deal than it really is. That's probably one of my worst pet peeves, especially when I meet other AM's that just simply rub it in my face. Tongue

What I'm saying is that even if you don't have one, you can still be a decent Flame Wizard w/o possessing a Wand 1.

The sentence I quoted was unclear, then. Of course you can still be decent, but the economy is rigged so that to be the strongest, you're going to have to pay an amazingly disproportionate amount. Compare the price of a 14 attack WG to a 15 attack SCG. You kind of get the idea of the market.
