I never leave my computer so I don't see why I should be afraid of it.

I'd be pissed if I died from it like the silly Mexicans (not intended to be racist), but I'm not scared. I haven't really read into it though.

Run away to Madagascar. It's pretty much safe if the port hadn't shut down yet.

Yea there is a status affliction where if you interact with one player you can get hurt and the outside game makes it hard to do stuffs. Also it can sometimes cancel your subscription to the RL user interface. Frown

In all seriousness I hope it gets so bad that half of the people and children aren't working and I can stay in bed and grind out in maples.

the media plays up a new flu every year, and every time it's so much more deadly and terrifying than last year's. I was actually talking to someone about it yesterday who was completely horrified, thinking that swine flu was gonna kill us all, and that it was a "plot from the terrorists in afghanistan to wipe out the united states through the drug trade!!" what? then I saw 3 people in the park wearing those stupid ass medical masks. everyone's treating it like the apocalypse, and there's only been 20 confirmed deaths in mexico.

it's just like CONFICKER!! only offline.

Imagine all those masks weren't put to use. Imagine all Mexico was infected because of that. Imagine that if we didn't overreact that much, it'd get world wide.

Oh, we'll never know, SPECIALLY SINCE THERE'S APPARENTLY ONE POSSIBLE INFECTED IN MY OWN TOWN, HERE IN SPAIN. Stupid ass, maybe, but if they wear it, maybe it's for something.

bad wording on my part due to frustration with the whole thing. it's not that I think the masks are stupid or don't do anything, it's just a reminder of how caught up everyone gets with these new media scare tactics.

Let's face it, if you're a reasonably healthy person who has access to clean water and somewhat healthy food and maybe a clinic, you're not gonna die. It's the flu. It just happens to be a strain we haven't seen before.

No problem, but actually, the masks do a LOT. I've heard some doctors talking about the matter, and how the virus works. It's so dangerous because the virus itself doesn't have to mutate from a pig to a human, but, after all, it's a flu, so it only affects others by breathing (mouth and nose). Also, the virus is extremely weak to "detergent" (The doctors may be referencing to soap too, I don't know :p): one wash, and it's exterminated. And of course, there's normal flu around, too, so the correct thing is: Don't panic, but be concerned. If you get flu simptoms (lolspelling?) visit a doctor, but don't think you are TAGGED.

However, I'm not concerned about me. It's kinda hard to see your own father telling you that you can easily survive that flu, but he can't, since he have breathing problems.

The only reason I don't want to get it, it's not to bring almost certain doom to my father. I'm kinda concerned by this all just for that.

Different treatments for different illnesses. For this particular flu, the masks work.

Try combating Ebola with hammers.
