Underwater Basket Weaving
#1
I've always wondered about the origin of "underwater basket weaving" as the go-to absurd example of a pointless cake class...

My college has an underwater basket weaving class.
On a side note the reason it exists if cause doing basket weaving underwater allows for a better basket.
I don't remember exactly why.

Weaving Their Way to an A. Wednesday, January 25 marks the first session of a new course offered by the recreation department entitled ‘Underwater Basketweaving.’ The course will be taught at the Canyon View Pool Center by Stephanie Litvak,… The first day of class, students will weave in the pool, but all weaving thereafter will be done in the Jacuzzi.

So, (to clarify I'm not insane) underwater basket weaving is just a fake joke that was first used as a "major" do dodge the draft.

OR

They are now actually having this???????????????????????????????????! :f6:

The phrase Under Water Basket Weaving has been around for ages.

It is a real class. And it is pointless. That's why people use it as an example of a pointless class.
