PS3 was superior to the 360 and now it seems the PS4 is superior to the Xbox One.
Xbox one just looks like a inferior pc to me.

This console just seems to get worse and worse rep the more it's reported. It's just so disappointing that companies are so money-hungry these days that they would attack traditions such as bringing your own used games to play at a friend's place, just so they can get more money when it's obvious to us gamers that such things will backfire faster than a can of insecticide being thrown onto a fire.

Nintendo can't even level the 360 or PS3 let alone compete this gen. It was only between Microsoft and Sony, and so far Microsoft completely blew it.

So coming into E3, we can probably agree on this console ranking thus far:

1. Sony, with their PS4 dedicated to games. Also loves indies. And nice specs.
   
2. Nintendo. Sure, the Wii U needs more games, but at least that's what Nintendo always made their hardware for.
   
3. Microsoft, with their BorgOne that wants to assimilate your entertainment system.
   

What games these companies will show on E3 will be the deciding factor on who'll really be on top this year.

Same as microsoft. This conference wasn't geared towards hardcore games. It's geared towards as a wide audience as they can get. This first conference was to attract all the masses. Microsoft is transitioning the xbox from a gaming system to just an entertainment system in general. Their original goal with the Xbox was to be the center of your living room. With each iteration they are getting closer. With this live TV bs they are trying to make DVRs and cable boxes obsolete. I don't like the direction Microsoft is heading as a gamer who doesn't watch TV. So Sony seems like the wise choice right now. Though I'll wait and see what MS has instore for E3 as that is where they are supposed to show off the gaming side.

The Kinect gets a lot of flak but it's pretty cool tech. I hope Microsoft supports the Oculus Rift or even makes their own. Kinect + the Oculus would be impressive.

This is retarded. You're telling me microsoft is trying to kill cable companies with a gaming system? Are you f`ucking on drugs? Google, the biggest giant in the goddamn world, is in the process of spreading out fiber optics that is 1000x faster than any internet currently affordable/available. Hell, I get 150 M/b a second on $120 bucks a month, and Google is offering 1 TB for 80.

Xbox is trying to do what the wii u has already done, found a niche outside of video games, considering 80% of their library is shared with sony. All xbox has done is destroy any competition/credibility it had left. Sorry but some crappy motion tech and DVR capability is worthless as most companies offer that service with their basic packaging. It's poor marketing, period.

Iirc, Nintendo will have the biggest stand in a moderm E3 (I think about 25% of the entire place). And they'll show Smash bros, Mario kart U, Pikmin 3 and Bayonetta 2 (being mario kart and pikmin 3 playable and other games too but I don't remember them). Sony has to specify a lot more about PS4 and we actually don't know a lot about it, but I think they'll show Infamous second son and Kill zone. Microsoft will probably do the same as always, show some multi platform games and kinect/social stuff but we should take in consideration the 15 exclusives that they say the have for the first year.

Oh I also forgot that nintendo is showing what Retro studio is working on, Zelda windwaker HD and X.

So, I'd say your rank stays the same for software too. Maybe nintendo at top but that would be decided by the new smash.

Seems about right. Its definitely sonys game to lose at the moment. The only way sony can lose out is if they somehow make the dumb mistake over pricing the ps4, or they don't grab this huge, huge chance by the balls and announce that they too have a DRM single console system.

What is overpricing though? I'm not even sure any more, I'd be totally willing to spend ~£250 for a ps4 like I did my wii u, bvut thats not going to happen.

Honestly though, If ps4 still supports playstation plus like it is on ps3, I think I'd be happy getting one just with a PS+ sub and never directly buying games.
This is of course under the assumption that Wii U 3rd party support does drop off a cliff like I expect it to, otherwise I'm happy with my Wii U for now.

The pineapple? Really? Microsoft are making it HARDER to get indie games on Xbox one after its publically announced that Nintendo and Sony both made huge headway in PSvita/3ds/ps4/wii u to let indies be a serious part of the console scene?

Why does everyone want backwards compatibility ALL THE TIME NOW? You didn't see the SNES playing NES games, or N64 playing SNES games. Why is it "expected" now? Just use your old system if you want to play your old games.

Aren't the physical mediums different for one thing? Besides this, we know now that backwards compatibility is possible with these devices so there's no real excuse to not include it unless it somehow costs a lot to develop which I doubt, and sometimes having the old system isn't really a possibility since they break down.

It was a $400-500 system upon release. Sony does add a little more hardware and quality to their system so I can imagine it being a wee bit more expensive than the other two. I would find $300-350 to be an acceptable price.

Because we don't live in pre 2006. Nintendo has had full BC support for two generations of consoles now, and every generation of handhelds since the Game boy colour (being the second major handheld...), so there is no good reason that everyone can't offer it.

The fact you have to quote so far back in nintendos history just proves the point. Short of a complete change in input media (N64-> GC) or PSP-> Vita, there is absolutely no excuse.
