Why is everyone worried about unlimited?
Curtiss Wrote:You have no idea how nervous I am about this patch, given that they always leave out the important parts. I'll flip something real hard if they included the Unlimited Aswan changes as well though.

not to mention a huge maintanence check that may be coming right after the patch.

That's to be expected but it's not as much of a big deal as finding out that something you had planned to do can't be done any more.

I'm certainly going to watch with baited breath on what happened with the boss changes. Though they aren't as bad as we thought when they were first released in KMS, the numbers were still rather intimidating especially for us poorer servers.

I may patch for unlimited after all.

wouldn't it be SO MUCH fun to ban them 1 by 1 seeing the rainbow of maple characters disappear?

Not to mention that super huge maintenance check after the patch.

Oh, really? You can define when someone has a reason just right off the bat like that? I have just as much reason as you do. But it is nice to see that besides unneeded nitpicking you also dabble in thinking you have a reason while the other person doesn't.

iVege Wrote:I really have nothing to say if all you're going to do is throw "wrong" at me with no explanation behind it. No, your post does not mean what you want it to mean just because you wrote it.

Like you're doing to me! (!!!) My post means exactly what I wanted it to mean, means exactly what it is supposed to mean, and means the exact and correct thing that it should mean.

iVege Wrote:English is in fact, my second language. Cantonese is my first language and I'm studying Japanese right now (unsure if it'll actually become my third language though). In case you were wondering .-.

That's nice. English is my first, German is my second, Japanese is my third and Russian is becoming my fourth. =D

iVege Wrote:Again, the "level 195" referred to the Dark Knight and not the hyper skill. Nowhere in your post does it say that you get "the DI hyper skill" at level 195.

Annnnnnnnd? That doesn't make my statement wrong in the least. My statement was vague, but everyone will understand it and that is all that matters. That is enough to make it correct unless you're just being a pointless nitpicking grammer nazi. =P

iVege Wrote:My gosh, this has got to be the most pointless discussion ever. Seeya around.

At least I made you realize your mistake.

iVege Wrote:That goes against what you're saying here. He/she doesn't agree that his/her wording was flawed, but that only mine is. If he/she truly believed what you said about his/her post, he/she wouldn't have said that my post was wrong. She would have said that it was correct, but unnecessary...

My post was correct but vague. Your post was right in the sense that I left words out, but at the same time it was wrong because I still correctly conveyed my statement, also your post(s) was unnecessary and pointless.

If we get a Nebulite "Revamp" (S Rank and maybe box drop increase) instead of Additional Options:

- You'll need to buy Nebulite Diffusers for 500NX each to remove nebs to make room for new ones.
- You'll need to buy Fusion Tickets for 500NX each to fuse for the new nebs.
- You'll need to buy Gachapon Tickets to get nebs to fuse.
- If they increase drop rate for neb boxes, botters/hoarders/dupers will likely complain until the droprate gets massively reduced/removed, like what happened to GM scrolls in Golden Temple.

And that's not mentioning the possibility of the return of Alien Cubes to get S rank as well. Plus, S nebs will be obscenely expensive and out of reach of 99% of players without NX.

I see nothing wrong with Additional Options other than the Scissor limit for some people. I don't class hop much though. And even then, I'd prefer Additional Options over the (fairly likely) above scenario.

Didn't Girasol say that no new systems were going to be added? While the scenario above might still happen since a revamp isn't a new system, I think it's best to see what comes during Unlimited before making speculations.

Also, the Scissors limit would have been a huge issue for anyone using either tradeable gear across multiple characters or who was using level 140+ gear. It limits resell value and is thus highly unappealing given that it would have made your items worthless at some point but I say 'would' since it turns out that Additional Options weren't so game-breaking that you'd definitely need it to do anything post-Unlimited. Monocle

Point taken, but it would also make sense to at least release S nebs if we're not getting AO since it's been a while since we got Nebulites to begin with.

I share a lot of decent gear through lower level characters myself, but I wouldn't consider Flaming it unless it was endgame-worthy. I just figured that people would feel the same way.

And I agree with your last point there, too. Although resale value doesn't really matter much to me personally.

Why can't they just implement Additional Options and remove scissor counts? It can't be THAT hard right?

Well, it seems that MapleSEA will be getting AOs so I'll be showing off the results in the potential thread. Of course, I'll only be using flames on mule gear and stuff like my Phantom's cane since I'm not planning to sell it and given that gear in this game is stupidly expensive that was a point I wanted to note as a potential turn-off.

Thousandwing;: Beats me. Tongue Better yet just keep the scissors and remove the count so that it can be a fairly moderate and permanent meso sink.

Better idea.

Keep Additional Options, keep scissor count, make regular SoK's cost mesos and make it where only equips that already needed PSoK's keep needing PSoK's.

So, if you want to trade a regular equip with AO on it you have to pay mesos.

Would it be a pipe dream to have PSoKs included as meso-purchasable items too? I mean, yes, there's items like Tyrants needing PsoKs but then you have the DRPQ weapons needing PsoKs too which makes no sense to me, or they could be switched to requiring SoKs so only the top-level gear needs them.

That would be a good idea. Have only equips that are "godly" need PSoK which will continue to cost NX. Like, Empress equips, Fafnir equips, Tyrant equips, etc.

Also, make it where Heli equips and Nova equips need SoKs instead of PSoKs. I can't buy any Nova equips because they take PSoK and no one really wants to PSoK those equips without charging more than they're worth.

Likewise, I think the Nova and Heliseum equips being SoK-able and SoKs being switched to mesos-only is a good idea. The whole scissors concept is badly outdated with tons of items needing SoKs when they're no longer worth it and while we're talking about this they should also apply it for Czak helms and CHTPs to make the game more friendly towards unfunded people since surviving in a CHTP run can be a little awkward depending on your computer's specs.

I'm fairly sure the scissors used on AO'd equip are meso ones.

@below: Yeah, that's what I meant. I wasn't specific enough in my post.

No, scissors used on previously tradeable items are in game ones.

I'm not sure what's going on up there but there's a Silver Scissors of Karma (Mesos) that applies to AOed items that were previously fully tradeable. AO'd equips that already need to be cut using a type of scissors still use their normal ones and not the ones you buy for mesos.

It might be useful in lowering your damage if damage rounds that way.

Thousandwing Wrote:Why can't they just implement Additional Options and remove scissor counts? It can't be THAT hard right?

As scary of a thought this is, maybe the scissor count removal was only the result of Additional Options not being implemented.

Hey, that's no fair. I was next. Though, that depends on where the debate actually started. Because he/she made the first post? Because I commented on his/her post? Or because he/she rejected my suggestion?
