I don't think it's flat out 29:59. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't it 30 minutes AFTER you enter the main cave. Unless waiting till 29:59 works too.

knockback would be the main reason i'd guess, since magic attacks push you right, making you fall from the plats if you're on the left side.

Huh o.o all attacks push me to the left. That's why I like being on the left as much as possible.

My friend said it's after summoning and I've been waiting 30 mins after summoning every time. Not too sure though.

Confirming it's 30 minutes after SUMMONING.

I'm a level 200 Mercedes and I have little difficulty soloing Horntail because:

- Water Shield does blocks 30% of 1/1 so I actually have 30% HP left even after a sed 1/1. Then I just need to wait a while for my natural regeneration to kick in then I can use Hero's Will

I didn't realize Mercedes had an easy time at HT. Now if only I could find a HTPQ group to go with.

The few times I tried HT on my Mechanic seemed impossible without a seduce mule. Almost certain death at first seduce + 1/1 at pre head. Hero's Will never works in time, even if I happened to remember in a hurry what key I put it on. I guess if Heros' will did work, I could immediately jump on a rope and wait out the 6-minute cool down before continuing attacking.

I don't know if Mechs have a damage reduction skill or a recovery skill, but for those that don't, Hero's Will requires MP, which may be lacking after a 1/1.

Ok so we have been successful in killing horntail obviously. Just one more question. If the first person who enters HT sits on the top right, can they avoid seduce with out the next person in line being seduced {or} does the seduce skip and start seducing in order of entrance?

I would believe it goes to next order of entry if you dodge the left arm's attention by sitting on the top right, but only that arm.

I've always killed 30 minutes after entering the main cave and gotten drops lol.
