Maplestory & Windows 8

It runs fine on Windows 8. It takes a few tries to start though.

also important, are you running 64 or 32 bit win8?

64 bit.

Launching through Steam is the only way I could get it to work.

So I've got it working through the game launcher now on windows 8. At first, when I started maple nothing showed up and the process froze around 20 mb of memory and a core of the processor. Copying the files from the steam directory to the regular directory made the program work, but there wasn't some data needed for the steam version to work.

My theory is something in older .exes have an issue in windows 8. The .exe from the most recent download seems to work, so if you're running windows 8 try a full reinstall.

More recent Windows OS releases are in somewhat of a tick-tock fashion, good version, bad version, good version, bad version etc (like what FenixR said).

Yes I have used Windows 8. I've been a RC tester for the past 2 major Microsoft OS's.

And so have I.
