This is kind of what I was saying - on my BM and my Outlaw, the only time I ever find myself wanting a Dark Sight- type skill is when I'm wading through something I can't take a hit from. Buccs don't have the survivability issue. I shoot everything else down or simply walk past it. Isn't Oak Barrel just another pot-saving skill, if you look at it that way?

^ That and the fact that if you're using Oak Barrel to compensate for survivability, you better be willing to gamble your experience. It has a failure rate.

Weighing everything, Oak Barrel just isn't... that great, unless you're a penny-pincher on travelling (yeah, sucky point), but MP Recovery's saving is still better, IMO. And with a Bucc's decently high HP just makes it all the less useful to even get OB with its failure rate. :\

1. If the map is not flat, expect Shockwave to stop halfway.
2. It's slooow in third job. In 4th job Dragon Strike is stronger, not that much slower than Shockwave in terms of delay, and isn't restricted or pineappleed over by the silly terrain rule.
3. Shockwave is all power, and virtually no versatility (No Corkscrew + Dragon Strike Comboing for example).
That's why Shockwave is fail.

You mean you can still walk while casting MP Recovery? Doesn't your character stops where he is when you press MP Recovery, and you couldn't move your character until the MP Recovery animation finishes? At least this happens to me...
Sorry I'm playing in MSEA, maybe GMS got a patch for this skill?

This is exactly what I like to hear from people lol. MP Recovery isn't a terrible skill at all. It saves alot of trouble at least for me, recovery and drain is a deadly combo at bosses. Until you can get drain you can just recover your mp and virtually spend 0 mp pots training or at bosses.
Its a good skill guys Just give it a chance.
Edit: to the above poster, I can move while using mp recovery. It never stops my movement.

If anything MSEA is the odd one out then. In any video I have seen people have been moving while using mp recovery.

Is there a special way to cast mp recovery and moving at the same time eg. by pressing directional buttons and mp recovery button the same time? or simply just press mp recovery, then press directional button to move?
Rusty, when will you be releasing the control vid #2? I love your videos as they are really inspiring videos for future brawlers.

I really regret putting points into MP recovery instead of Barrel. Barrel is what makes pirates useful on GPQ, and that means alot if you are leading GPQs for a small guild.

Isn't using barrel to walk pass the golems too dangerous since it has a 10% chance of failure when max? I believe barrel is used only in desperate situation where you cant get a thief with dark sight in GPQ.

as a matter of fact I was gonna make it today. LvL 144 is the level I planned to make it (Max barrage/dstrike/ lvl 11 Si). I wanted to make the guild video first though.

Heh. It's a huge change in training between 120 and 14x, isn't it? In my opinion, 14x is much easier to control than 12x. There's too much work you have to do while training in 12x. T_T With Carple Tunnel Syndrome (I have it), training is very exhausting at my level. I really can't wait until my Dragon Strike is maxed. Anyways, I'd love to see how your video turns out!

That was the exact situation I was in.

barrel is a double edged sword, it lets you take no damage but it can fail, but if you try to use it right before getting hit, you will still be hit, so in that case its a bit useless. I use it every time i am moving to lower ascent, becuase it lets me save a few pots getting thru that stretch. and unlike dark sight, i think you get to keep what speed and jump you have already (correct me if wrong)

No. I always have a bathrobe/speed pill on. You don't keep the speed bonus you have. Barrel brings it down to 100%.

Mp recovery isn't useless.
If you use it while charging your energy, you wont lose a lot of MP.
Then, when your energy is charged, you can use Energy drain to recover your hp.

Now i understand the reason. The pirate class in MSEA should be the most primative version. I have notice that GMS drain is also alot faster than MSEA, so i conclude that previously, they did reduced the delay for these 2 skills earlier, which GMS have received this improvement, but MSEA has not.
Let's hope MSEA receive this patch (reduced delay in drain and mp recovery) soon and hope the newest patch (delay reduced for most skills and all skills can be used in transformation) will be releasing soon..
Draining in so slow in MSEA...
