Describe the problem. Be as specific as possible!: Found a thread on Basil about this. Decided to test it out expecting it to be wrong. It wasn't, it turns out that Elemental weapons give their "secondary" element the 10% primary boost and vice versa:
Quote:Decided to try this out for myself. I have +12% total damage on my Estaff 8, which is supposed to primarily boost lightning attacks.
Max range: 22639
Expected max with CL30 (lightning) if 5% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22639 x 7.4 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.05 x 0.9 = 265,968
Expected max with CL30 if 10% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22639 x 7.4 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.1 x 0.9 = 278,633
Observed max with well over 100 trials with CL30 on 10% PDrate enemies: 265,809.
Okay, what. Ice next.
Expected max with ID30 (ice) if 5% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22369 x 2.6 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.05 x 0.9 = 93,448
Expected max with ID30 (ice) if 10% increase on 10% PDrate enemies: 22369 x 2.6 x 1.5 x 1.12 x 1.1 x 0.9 = 97,898
Observed max with well over 100 trials with ID30 on 10% PDrate enemies: 97,065.
Foced to conclude that the elemental bonuses are infact the wrong way 'round. Didn't really have to get so close to the expected limit, but did so to prove a point. Regardless, GG. ~_~
