Zakum disappearing and reappearing
#1
When ever i go to zakum he disappears and reappears when i get to the second body. After a while he stay there but when i get to the last body he totally vanishes. Anyway to stop zakum from doing this when i go fight him since i usually dc if he doesn't reappear. I turn all the graphics down to the lowest possible still happening and update my video cards. Still happening its getting annoying dcing every run.

It's an issue that stops me from zrunning. Vista's what I cast my blame on, though my guildie said it happens to him on 7, too. Still blaming Vista. ):

What I do is just alt tab after 3rd body spawns then do it again before it dies. Seems to work fine for me.

Best way to counter it is alt+enter. It'll still flash, but you won't dc, which is all that matters really (although it might make watching for attacks a bit difficult due to his graphics disappearing upon using certain attacks)

You could try starting with full graphics on the arms, then turning it down a notch every time the next phase happens, so you'll turn it down one notch when all the arms are gone, then again on the second body, and etc. etc.

And try updating to Service Pack 1 if you haven't done so already.

What I do (Regular alt + tab didn't work for me) is do the arms in window mode in second lowest quality. Then at the first body I go to full screen and second best detail right at the beginning (Go to window mode and back if there is any lag when you do this to fix it). Then full screen and worst detail for second body (do the same as you do at the first body if there is any fps lag in full screen). Then at the third body use second worst detail (the same thing again if there is any fps lag). But try not to stay in window mode at any time during the bodies because this is generally when the glitch is the worst. This has been tested by myself and has worked 20 or more consecutive times, I haven't dc'd since I came up with it. Also my friends with the same problem use it and it worked like a charm for them as well.

Edit: I can also add a video to show you what happens to me when I have the glitch if you wish so you can compare. Not enough time to do it atm.

Alt+tab method didn't work. I tried this morning putting maple story in real time priority and using a program called game booster with the lowest quality graphics set. I seem to get no problems at zak doesn't disappears till the third body then instantly disconnected when zakum flashes once. Tongue

Do what Dominic said, two replies up.
It might look a little complicated, but it works.

This bug affected ( and still might) JMS for patches.

Do it before it starts glitching.
You do it at the beginning of each body, to *prevent* the glitch, not to stop it after it starts.
