Ask a Blaze Wizard Thread.

I'm confused Dusk. Which build are you using? I see you posting stuff about training with strike and some stuff with curtain. I'm just asking because you seem to give good advice and i just want to clarify which build you use.

I've never made a luckless mage before, how would I go about making a luckless blaze wizard? Stats, equips, and all. First statless character, so even the basics would be helpful here in addition to more specific things.

Pump int. Get int gear. Done.

And what about equips? What equips exactly should I use?

Maple stuff. Common stuff. Ele wand 1/2 if possible. Anything with INT on it that doesn't also require LUK.

If you're only looking to make any old lukless, it's simpler than a regular build. Lukless with +0 INT and wooden wand > normal build with clean equips (pre-Maker, anyway). As such, you don't really have to worry about what you use.

However, upgrading from there is not something I know about because I only made a lukless because crap funding would be more bearable.

Or at least very little of it. -points to the green paintbrush- Nice m.att, requires 5 to all stats.

And what about a low-luck?

Just get any old agent item (the parachute shoes work well for this) to fill your need. You'll probably stop using the paintbrush by the time the shoes expire.

I'm Gear first but I'm only level 75 so I can't just Gear the entire map and walk off yet; I put 3 points in Strike and I basically use Gear to supplement my Strike damage while I train with that.

Can't use Booster with the Paintbrush.

I've never seen a BW get booster between 30-35 though.

Nor Flame Pillar. You're best off using a wooden or beginner wand until 35, where you should get some crappy maple staff.

@Rayquaza: Alright, here are some equips you'll want as a lukless mage:

-weapon: Use a wooden wand from 8-30. At 30, get a pink tube if it's available, in which case you can keep it until 64. Otherwise, you'll want to get a crappy maple staff at 35 and a mediocre lama or nocturnal staff at 43. At 64, get a maple shine wand or maple wisdom staff, scrolled decently (+6 60% scrolls or so). After that, don't bother with a weapon until you can afford an ewand 2 (poison, gives 10% fire bonus) or an ewand 1 (25% bonus, very expensive).

-hat: Hats can be scrolled for int, though they're pretty expensive. You're probably best off getting some clean 3 int or so hat, then saving up for a zhelm. Chaos scroll a receiver if it's available.

-overall: Most people scroll bathrobes for int, so aim for a decent one of these. Unfortunately, they're all pretty expensive. Just use a clean one for a while or possibly a chaos scrolled invincible suit.

-shoes: Yellow snowshoes are the only tradable shoe you can get with INT on them, but they're very expensive (they also come with 3 dex, 7 slots and are common), so you probably won't be getting one anytime soon. If you have a lot of time, get permanent agent shoes, otherwise, 100% whitebottoms or snowshoes for speed.

-shield: Sadly, expensive dark scrolls are all you can scroll shields with for int, so most of them end up godly and really expensive or all blow'd up. Toss some dark scrolls for defense on a stolen fence for the lulz, I have a 14 defense, 3 slot one right now!

-gloves: Same issues as shield; well-scrolled or poorly scrolled ones are quite rare. Use a white WG just for the awesomeness in it.

-cape: This is about as simple as buying attack WGs for regular classes: simply try to get the highest total stats (INT + magic attack) out of one.

-face: Goggleemoticon

Yeah. That's pretty much it. Low luk would use similar, luk equips, with overalls, shields, and capes scrolled for luk rather than int.

Um. I need a bit of assistance. I have a Blaze Wiz Lvl 55-ish.
When I hit 3Rd job, should I do Fire Curtain and then Amp?
Or should I do Fire Curtain then Strike.
Or should I do Strike before Fire Curtain?
Ideas? :3

I just hit 70 and put 1 gears and just to let you know IT SUCKS! first piont should always go on strike... the timer at lvl 1 gears isn't long enough to do enough dmg to make it worth casting... your better off pillaring without stopping than gearing then pillaring pausing to gear again every few seconds

Yeah, no matter which build you go for, always put 1 point on strike. If you do Gears first, go for 1 strike > max gears > max strike > 10 amp > save points(20) > max ifrit > max amp > save points(20) > max meteor > max seal > 11 element resistance. If you choose strike first (what i did) go max strike > max amp > max gears > save point (10) > max ifrit > save points(20) > max meteor > max seal > 11 element resistance.

So my Blaze hit gearing levels today (: He's doing great too; I haven't died once at Peak while double channeling (HB mule ftw, but I did get down to 3 HP once).

Anyways, just a question: what's faster? Doubling (or even tripling? o-o) up on Peak or gearing the Skele MD? I've heard good things about the MD but..it's 1 map. Is the spawn really good enough to beat out peak, even if peak is a bit less dense?

Also, when you get maxed meteo at 110, is it really better to go to Newts with meteo? Assuming 2hko, of course.
