AEE from Eregos

Is it truly an AEE? A guy I know says he blew up his weapon on the first AEE. Has anyone had similar experiences, or is this guy just bsing me.

Here's what probably happened:
He used a regular EE, passed it, then used an AEE expecting it to be 100% chance still.

yes, they are, and they work as advertised
the people starting those rumors are most likely people who are interested in selling their own AEEs

First AEE != first star.

I think even Nexon's description, which is in my opinion the worst you can get, is rather clear about this.
