I gave up on C++ after running into this. I moved to Python, though, so I can't complain.

Same code works for me on Visual C++, maybe it's the IDE? Try downloading Microsoft Visual or Python and see if you get the same error.

I wanted to do Java, C++ and Jython all on Eclipse, but I guess you need different tools for different tasks.

If you want to try getting Eclipse working, do you have the standard library in your include path? Otherwise Visual C++ Express is good.
