Strategy for 8x vs. Nightshadows?

I'm wondering if I'll be able to help my friend on her 84 Hermit, collecting Nightshadow badges for the Crimsonwood quest. She did the same for me, but using her 12x Mage, so it's gonna be a bit of work, but I'm up for it!

My idea is, locate a more-or-less-safe spot where she can snipe, and I can stand there spamming Seal to block their ranged attacks. Her damage is bound to be better than mine on those guys, but I'll throw in my silly Magic Claws when possible. (I tested last night after leveling to 85, and after 30 seconds or so I had taken around 10% health off of one. Pro, eh?)

I know this won't be extremely fast, but do you guys think it's worth doing? If so, any recommendations of where? (Due to their jumping, I don't think there are any safe spots in the Caverns, so I'm thinking outside on the maps that lead to them.)

Test it yourselfs, see how fast you can kill them.

If not, get a higher leveled friend to help.

Spamming Ultimates would be a lot quicker, and won't waste rocks. :S But that's just me. If you have to though, kill them any other way other than to spam Ults.

Last map before guardians has a few snipe spots. Though, their damage isn't that high (1.6-7 with a zhelm) so I think you ought to be able to survive. O_o

There's also a sniping spot in the Nightshadow/Windraider cave.

All the Nightshadows are on the top platform, and you can lure them to the right and then sit 1 step down, they won't attack you there.

That's where I hunted them on my DK cause the outside place has too many other monsters on it :/

Thanks Isaac & Stereo, nice tips! If we can do it inside a cave, that would be ideal; I'd rather not have a bunch of Elderwraiths getting in the way.

Yeah, I recall them doing about 17xx bump damage to me, so as long as she doesn't get bumped too much and I keep them sealed (Hermit has no Z-helm) we should be OK.

I couldn't reach that safe spot in the cave without my hog, though. Didn't have enough Jump.

The droprate for nightshadow badges is pathetic. I trained at the Path of Strength on my shadower for around 20% and only got about 60 of those badges. It's going to take a LONG LONG time to collect badges if you can't kill them efficiently.

Yeah, we're only doing the 10 badge quest, not the exchange one. I know it'll take an hour or two, if we can even stand it. Sometimes you do things just for the challenge, you know?

Whoops, I thought I remembered that quest being badge collecting, but it's not. I just reviewed the quest info on Strategywiki and it's defeating 75 of them and the other guys.

Well, I knew I was fighting Nightshadows for some reason or other!
