As far as classes go... I'm gonna love High School

So, a few days ago, these people from the local high school came and gave us our class choices, and explained it all. The amount of technology classes is staggering.

They recommended study hall, but I might actually skip it. I know I'm gonna at least go for taking (if spaces fill up I'll need an alternate) computer programming I and Band. I'm still debating between Web Design and Study Hall, but I might end up going for Web Design.

Also, I don't think I'll ever have to take an art class. You only need to take one visual/performing arts class throughout high school, which I'm assuming band will count. NO MORE PAINT CRAP!!! HAHAHAHA!!!

Not to mention no more spanish. I hate spanish. Maybe it's too easy, but I also don't really like the culture (no offense to any Spainards). So I'll take Italian I. Similar to Spanish, so it'll be easier to understand, and I like that culture better. Sweet.

The last point is that I'll be WAY ahead in credits. You only need 29 credits to move on to 10th grade. The average is supposedly around 34. If I pass a couple of tests I'll have to take in the summer, I should have around 44. I'm taking two high school courses this year (Algebra I and Geometry), so I just need to take two tests in the summer and pass them to get high school credits. Even a D would get me credits though, so I should be good.

Now, lets wait to see how douchy people get in high school... that'll be the main problem.

@-a if your looking to be ahead, why not see if the community college nearest you allows high school students to take classes. I did that and graduated both high school and college with my AA at about the same time, and that was when i was only 18 :O.

I don't want too much work though. I'm sticking to all honors and academic (or level 1 and level 2) classes, so I'll have tons of work as it is.

nah, you wouldnt need to even do the high school part, you should be able to get credits for both college and high school. Also, if you plan it all right, you could even get you high school diploma faster than normal.

and trust me, this is very simplistic when it come to web design. This forum is built using PHP, and i read theres some where in the millions of different instructions you can use using PHP, so it can get pretty complicated.

High school wasn't all it's cracked up to be.. Especially the drama and the peer pressure...

God i hate that... Not to mention all the great expectations people have... Especially parents..

Dreamweaver is a program to make/design websites. We're going to start using it tomorrow. I just finished up Web Page 1 and we used Microsoft Frontpage to get used to things, now we're moving onto Dreamweaver.

People turn into major tools when they mature through high school. The added influence of drugs doesn't help either.

i say you never truely mature in high school >_> my EX-best friend was in high school, most immature person youd ever meet...and is my ex best friend because he ended up stealing $600s from me a few days before Christmas... worst ferking friend ive ever had.

We do. We actually don't have to take any kind of social studies either. For freshman year.

The choices for electives are kind of constricted, but compared to some of the crap I've seen, this stuff is the most interesting.

My school is pretty cool. We have a lot of classes
I'm only a freshman, but I took a semester long class called Walking and Conditioning. All we did was walk
I'm taking a Principles of Engineering class, and it's pretty cool, but it doesn't really suit my interests.
Also, our school won 3rd place(I think) in a competition that is pretty prestigious(if that makes sense). I won't tell what the competition was because It'd be pretty easy to find what school I go to >.>

I'm in the middle of a 6 week, 5 day a week, 9 hour a day course - US Navy Operational Intelligence. This doesn't include the countless hours spent after school working on briefs (presentations). This is the second level (one of 4 choices, some longer) of US Navy Intel school, with the first level being appx 12-13weeks with the same hours.

Highschool brings a whole new meaning to drama. Seriously, they will get worse lol
You sound smart though, just try not get too involved with people that lack maturity, and just focus on doing well in school. I personally found that people at university are way more mature than ones at highschool

I have heard that there are a few nice highschools around though, so you might get lucky

Social Studies= 2 years of US History and 1 year of World Cultures, which is all that's required.We could take one as an elective, but I hate Social Studies I'll skip on that.

Also, we get three electives, with a choice of two full year classes and two semester classes, or three full year classes. The semester class was dumb (it was some "Living Through High School" class, which was paired with Study Hall).

You also get three alternates to choose in case one of your classes is full. Band never fills up, and Computer Programming is for kids who completed Algebra I in 8th grade only, so they should be fine. It's Web Design that might be full. In that case, I'll just get Study Hall.
