A new Snipe skill table - Russt - 2009-01-14 As you all know, KMST just got a new 5-second cooldown Snipe. That's all well and good when it's maxed, but what if it isn't? Level 30 Snipe is 12 times as effective as level 20, which I think is ridiculous. So I propose a success rate. Whenever you use Snipe, it has a chance of failing, where no damage is dealt and the arrow shows a 'MISS'. I'm thinking the success rate should start from ~40% at level 1 and reach 100% at level 30. More specifically, something like this: Description: Attack target’s weak point for massive damage. Unlike mortal blow, if you bring the monster’s hp to 0, it does not give reduced EXP. Animation: Sniping Max Level: 30
(ty Fiel for the format, which I ripped )This would make it a lot more effective at low levels. At level 10, that's still averaging 1 Snipe every 36 seconds, which is much, much better than its current cooldown at 160 seconds. Even with level 1, when it fails more often than not, it's still a vast improvement. Basically makes a Snipe first build much more viable any comments?
A new Snipe skill table - Mark - 2009-01-14 Yeah...no. The Archer, the only class with ridiculous amounts of Accuracy. You haven't missed on a single monster in your little Maple life, and now that you're 4th job, the ultimate Archer, you're all of a sudden gonna start missing? I think not. Snipe is fine the way it is, and I dumped 14 points into it when I heard of the 200k damage cap, and now that it only has a 5 second cooldown I do not regret it at all. A new Snipe skill table - JoeTang - 2009-01-14 It isn't completely outlandish to consider the possibility of missing a target with such a skill. If you consider the concept of killing something in a single hit, you should consider where such a shot would be required to be placed to achieve this. Instead of missing though, normal damage would be fine, since it isn't realistic to sever the brainstem of a Maple monster. Either way, a failed Snipe wouldn't do much for you. The only difference is that 100% damage might KB a small monster or aggro it to you, or something like that. A new Snipe skill table - Dusk - 2009-01-14 So now maxed Snipe is 25/5*100/43 = 11.6 times more effective than 1 Snipe. I don't see how this changes anything
