Interesting dinner tonight. - GMSInfighter - 2008-11-18
So I sit down to eat dinner in my usual spot. Then suddenly my dad comes and sits on the end where no one ever sits. He usually eats in the other room and watches T.V. So he sits down and acts like it was natural that he just decided to eat with us tonight, something was up. He starts asking questions like "Anything new today?" I responded with no.. He then asks, "How was your day?" I responded with a finnne.. It's then quiet for a good 10 minutes and I finish and get up and then he speaks up and says "Well I got exciting news! Me and your mom are getting divorced!" I just blanked for a bit and started laughing and walked on the computer.
What's weird is I guess this has been planned for 3 months but they never told us and wanted to wait till after Thanksgiving. All in all, pretty interesting night. :f6:

I don't know. I was kinda just odded out at first then I kinda went sad because it's gonna be weird just living with one parent.
I mean our family used to be so close but now they are complete opposites.

Why was your dad laughing about it? I didn't really think divorce was something to laugh at. I agree with Myles, they should of both sat down with you and talked to you like the adults they are and should be. From the thing's you've told me personally, your dad seemed like a d-bag anyways.

My life got so much better when my dad was no longer a part of it. It was pretty much constant fighting for a couple years until the day he just abandoned us. I haven't said more than a few sentences to him in six or so years.
