For the Princess (Flash Game) - Loose - 2012-05-05

I've been working on this for the past week, I'm so happy to see how much it's advanced. My goal is to have it up and published someplace by next weekend.

I've been building this with past experiences, trying not to get too ambitious. You can only move (Arrows), shoot swords (X) and jump © at the moment. Press ® to restart it. You can't kill or get killed at the moment, stuff working on that. But I just wanted to share this with you guys.

Kill stuff.

Please ignore the trees, they look stupid and awful. They will be changed. So, how does it feel and look?

* Make the background stuff in a different layer because sword hides.
* People think the jumps at times are too hard, maybe dumb it down for them.
* Needs more boobs.
* Check traction of character.

Yeah, I've learned from the past, trying to keep things as simple as I can. Leaving the advanced stuff for later.

A friend of mine told me to make the best game ever. I hold him, first I'm going to make the game, then best and then ever. Baby steps.

Now, as to avoid posting more than twice.. I notice that you're using FlashDevelop. Cool, I like knowing about things I can use that are free. Stupid Flash. Wink

I don't see a princess. Where is she hidden.

It looks awesome.
As above, I can't hit anything or get inside the doors ( I guess you can get inside them right? ). Also it seems I can't shoot inside the castle, does this has to do with background image? Because when I shoot and move to rhe left I can see the sword coming out the castle (I'll try to get a SS) I know this is a test and it may be intended but I better input this info than not letting you know.

As for feedback: I guess it would be great if you can control how high you want to jump by holding the jump button.

Anyhow, awesome work. Keep it up.

It's a really good start, i love the spriting on the monsters, they look awesome.

Only thing i would suggest is maybe ditching sword throwing, it seems really boring, especially considering how many enemies are on screen at the start, you'd just back into a corner and hold down the throw button.

You can shoot inside the castle, problem is that the swords are drawn behind the tiles. And holding the jump button seems like a good idea, I'll see what I can do.

Enemies are just there for testing purposes, to check if they are colliding right with walls and not falling off ledges. The level is for testing purposes.

Honestly, I'd want to add on thousands and thousands of weapons, but if I start doing that I'll lose focus, as has happened with many other projects I've done. I just want to focus on the sword right now.
