Those who still own the older games. - MetaSeraphim - 2011-04-10 Gen 1/2/3. Can the game(s) still save? Can you still set the time? Have you ever replaced the battery in any of them? How long have you owned each of the games for? Those who still own the older games. - Imagine - 2011-04-10 Gen 2 Silver. 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Bought my current silver used ~1-2 monthes ago. Those who still own the older games. - Jon - 2011-04-10 I recently tried playing all my GBA games (I have each version lol) and the only one that gave me an issue was Ruby, I think. It still saved, but the clock didn't work anymore so berries and other day-related things no longer worked. Now that I think about it, last time I tried my gen 1/2 games, they all worked fine except for Silver's clock battery. Those who still own the older games. - Hazzy - 2011-04-10 I had some clock battery issues with Sapphire and I think one of the G/S/C games, but Gen 1 seems to work flawlessly. I have never tried replacing the battery. Those who still own the older games. - JPTheMonkey - 2011-04-10 Gen1 Blue -> No I took the battery out and I screwed it. Playable, not savable (had it for like 7 years) Gen2 Crystal -> Battery Died, was replaced with Blue's didn't work out. Playable, not savable (got at same time as Blue) Gen3 Ruby/LG -> All work, had them since release roughly. Those who still own the older games. - ShinkuDragon - 2011-04-10 anything gen 1&2 of mine (red, red again, and gold) don't save, my brother's crystal still worked last time i saw it iirc, ruby has a dead clock, but i don't mind that. never replaced the battery on any of them, and i have had them since release date almost. From that article: Games afflicted by the glitch will not display the following message upon start up: "The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock-based events will no longer occur." This message is displayed when the internal battery has run dry. Thanks though. I don't have Gold anymore. Saphire, doesn't save anymore >: Fire Red doesn't save either and barely works at all. Emerald wokrs perfectly. Those who still own the older games. - Katforks - 2011-04-10 Blue, not sure as I stopped playing it long ago. Yellow, plays but unsaveable. Never beat it cause it kept breaking. :[ Gold, battery died and can't save anymore. Sapphire, battery "ran dry" a while ago but still saves, just got bored of it. All of them but Gold were 2nd-hand buys so I can't give for sure dates but I got Gold not too long after it came out. Semi related note I can't /find/ my games anymore, thanks for reminding me to look for them. >__o Those who still own the older games. - Mark - 2011-04-10 R/B/Y/G/S - Functioning correctly.
