Quick question, for example, say I make a level 120 Soul Warrior. Now, when I create an UA, can I make it a pirate UA or whatnot? Or does the cygnus have to match the UA?

yes ANY lvl 120 KoC can make ANY UA class

You don't chose a pirate UA at all. You start off at level 50, you have to chose from all the jobs. And no, it doesn't have to fit your cygnus, they're independant.

The skill you get on your UA is the one related to its class though.
