I've recently found that I really enjoy history. I know that autobiographies aren't always a good way to get an accurate portrayal of a person, but they are usually quite interesting.
So, whos autobiography would you guys recommend? I'm sure we have some history buffs here.
So far I have autobiographies by Andrew Carnegie, George W. Bush, Ray Kroc, and Clarence Thomas. Getting Ulysses S. Grant's soon.

I am not a big autobiography fan but i did enjoy Don Zimmers book. (Baseball legend and full of great baseball stories)
My boss loves The making of a radical: a political autobiography by Scott Nearing
Having never read the Grant book you mention you are planning on getting I cannot talk about the story however i like the story about the making of the book. Grant was essentially BROKE. The didn't give ex-presidents pensions at that time in history. His good friend Samuel Clemens (MARK TWAIN) convinces him to come to NYC after many tries so he can be buried for free (when the time comes) in what is now know as grants tomb. While he was in NY he collaborated with Clemens and wrote his autobiography to raise money. Before it is released he dies and the book becomes the best selling book ever in America at the time (excluding the bible) and his widow lives on in extreme wealth.

I though it was awful.
And not like the divine comedy esque this-would-be-so-much-better-in-the-orginal-language awful. Regular awful.
Personally i think most autobiographies are pretty weak fare. But somewhat ironically, the diary of anne frank is one of the best imo because it's so much of what a real autobiograpy should be simply because it is a diary. Made extrodaniry by it's setting. Not some pimento recording their soon to be glorious escapades with way too much literary posturing. Art by honesty.

In hindsight i guess i've read roughly 1/3rd of these and enjoyed almost all. Maybe it's just some that i had to read that made me biased against them. I strongly recommend I know why the caged bird sings. As soon as i finish what i'm reading i'm going to start attacking this list.
EDIT 3: Yes yes i know this is a bit ridiculous but i just had to share that i just realized the book i am reading right now is a fictional autobiography. David Copperfield. I feel like such a hypocrite.
