Here in SoCal, earthquakes are definitely becoming more frequent. I don't remember the number per year, but having lived in SoCal for years, it's strange that earthquakes are increasing. Hope those guys make it out fine. It'd be a shame to lose members because of this. :| 7.0 Earthquake in New Zealand - Rick - 2010-09-04 Daku Wrote:Rick i hope youre fine <3 I'm perfectly safe. I live in the North Island, the quake was in the South. The quake was felt heavily in my own home town, but I checked on my family and they are all fine. I can not speak for how safe Heidi is, but I can tell you she isn't dead. There have been no fatalities and there have been only 2 reported serious injuries (crushed by a chimney and cut by falling glass). Buildings have collapsed, roads are cracked and such, and Christchurch is in a state of emergency. I wouldn't expect to hear from Heidi soon as water and electricity are still down as far as I know, but I hope she will come and let you guys know when she can. 7.0 Earthquake in New Zealand - Satellite - 2010-09-05 NOOOOOO it seems like Maple Kombat 8 will be delayed 7.0 Earthquake in New Zealand - Heidi - 2010-09-05 Southperry!! This is my first time, and I really hope it's my last! It was soooo scary. And it's going to be a long week stuck in this small room with my family. Not sure how much I'll be here in the next few days. I guess it depends on if there are anymore serious earthquakes or if I get evacuated or if the internet and power stay. One of my aunts in a town about 2 hours away has said we can stay with her and bring all our animals if we need to. Despite a lot of freaking out, me and my family are ok. Nobody is injured. My black cats are terrified but we're being careful not to feed them too much as hungry cats don't run away ;P Me. Multiple times. When you live in Los Angeles and the surrounding region, they come and go. I'm still not used to the shaky/rolly sensation. 7.0 Earthquake in New Zealand - larmie - 2010-09-06 holyforest Wrote:Me. Lived on San Andreas fault and now in Tokyo but haven't been in a quake yet. @ NZ I hope things go back to normal soon for you guys.
7.0 Earthquake in New Zealand - IcyGreenTea - 2010-09-06 I have never been to Christchurch, but I saw pictures of the aftermath, it looks so frightening, prayers for all those who went through it... For me, I have been in a couple of earthquakes myself, primary schools in Taiwan and Japan used to get you to practice what you should do in case of earthquake in the middle of class, or in the case in Taiwan, we had drills once every month or so in case of fire/earthquake/...and believe this, bombing. Anyways, people where there is earthquake dangers should be taught what to do in an earthquake, like, opening doors and windows so it won't be jammed shut during the quake, hide under desks or tables, and when it seems safe to do so, evacuate outside in case of collapsing building in aftershocks. The most recent earthquake I have been was Christmas eve in 2007, it was early morning and I was in Taiwan with my mum. Wasn't a very strong quake, but enough to wake everyone and get all the dogs barking and everything. Its just something people in some countries have to live with I think... |
