Sigh, AVG can be the MOST ANNOYING anti virus sometimes. What is the exact name I put on exceptions so AVG stops thinking maple has a "themida" ? Hurt

and throwing it in the virus vault every 4 hours, it gets very annoying and no matter what name I use it still will block maplestory.exe (yes I have tried that name before)

I can always take it out and shut down the resident shield every time I play maple but that gets VERY annoying fast Hothead

AVG is the worst antivirus i used. Only did use it for less than a week. It kept calling EVERYTHING a virus, called JMS and texts that had foreign characters a virus just for having such characters.
Seriously, you should get rid of it.

Try naming it the entire path? ie: C:\ProgramFiles\Nexon\MapleStory\gamelauncher.exe
You might need to add every exe in the folder.

Themida is the system to pack the executable so you can't hex edit it.(?) GG AVG.

I hate AVG honestly I do, as soon as I have the money for NOD32 i'm getting that instead, i'll try adding C:\ProgramFiles\Nexon\MapleStory\gamelauncher.exe to it and see if there is a difference, one second

The path was an example. It might be different for your computer. D instead of C is common. I have mine installed to C:\DemonChild\FailStory 86\gamelauncher.exe

Hmm well i'm not too good with this computer stuff but, the "path" it is blocking is exactly called "C:\Nexon\MapleStory\MapleStory.exe"

EDIT: Yea I tried adding that exact name to exceptions and of course it didn't work, thanks AVG

Try adding exceptions for both C:\Nexon\MapleStory\gamelauncher.exe (This is the actual game) and C:\Nexon\MapleStory\MapleStory.exe (This is the thing that opens the web page... and nothing else)?
Or just turn it off when you Maple. Run it once a week or so to scan?

None of those ideas worked, heh i'm not too sure what to do now, is there any other way to fix it besides go back to what I was doing before? Tongue

Does AVG allow you to add an exception to an entire folder?

For anyone who has AVG - Ookami - 2010-06-24

I am able to however when I click "Add Path" I cannot find my maplestory folder no matter what other paths I open.

I recently switched from Comodo antivirus+firewall to an Avast + Comodo firewall combo. Best switch ever in the world of free protection.

Unless you're an AVG fan, or just can't get rid of it, I recommend converting to avast (or another anti-virus).

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. (Don't have AVG anymore)

Found it myself, i'm just going to switch to Avast, thanks for the help guys Biggrin
