Strike @ Himes: An Endorsement - BeanTheMage - 2009-09-01

Having gone for a "Fire Strike --> Amp" build with my BW, I can tell you that switching from Blue Kents to Himes as early as your accuracy allows has been absolutely fantastic for leveling. Mobbing them left and right, slowly telecasting backwards while spamming Fire Strike works great with a Wand 1. I was leveling much quicker than once per half hour on 2x. Pot usage was also comparable to misting/gearing.

Like anything, there are negatives with this strategy... namely the fact that a Himes channels can be hard to find depending on the time of day you train, and the presence of Crow may also stop you altogether. Also, without a Wand 1, this training area does not compete as well vs a Gear build.

I rarely see this build/training combo mentioned, so I just wanted to say that yes, it's entirely safe to forego Gearing for a loooong time. I have a Wand 1, train weekday mornings, and have some decent gear to work with. I'm still comfortable training at Himes at level 98!

Exactly what I was thinking of doing, but getting a luring priest instead for my lazy ass. Heart What level would you say accuracy will permit me? I'm thinking mid 8x?
Also, damage pics/training video?

My trip to lvl 120 took just over a month, so I really flew through some of these training spots. My best estimate is that I started to go to Himes after I had maxed strike, and began to max amp. So probably around 80 or so, give or take a few levels based on your gear. I still missed a bit, and the training was still a bit expensive, but it was completely worth it.

Can't imagine how nice it would have been to have a priest assisting as well! You should do just fine. ^_^

I opted to go with Gear first now because I generally have trouble finding priests, and it's a very stunning skill. Trying to abuse its godliness as much as possible before it's given an accuracy formula. Of course then it's strike-amp-10 elquines-max elquines-max meteo-max... Seal? Resist? Still haven't figured that out.
