No. They're just overall better than the HORRIBLE commercials that currently come on lolMTV and Cartoon Network. They put much more thought into their advertisings, than the kid sitting in front of a computer with copy pasta'd MapleStory hair randomly appearing on his head.

Also, I thought the Korean pop actually ruined the commercial for me. =/

You gotta remember gaming is in essence a part of typical Korean lifestyle. Remember, this was the country (South Korea) whose economy was saved by STARCRAFT, and hosts Starcraft as an actual sport. They can be more creative/lax with game commercials because of that.

And since around 48,333,000 people live in South Korea... There's only 10 South Koreans for each copy of South Korean Starcraft. Goggleemoticon

By the way, does any one remember an old KMS add in which a warrior was skiing down a snowy hill on a shield while being chased by Mushmom and some Yetis? Can some one post a link to it? it would revive a lot of nostalgia for me :p

Sarcasm heavily detected. 10% of the population is an astounding number. Try 5 million distributed amongst 5 billion or so people. One Starcraft player every 1,000 people or so. Yay?

Korean economy was not saved by a friggin imported game lol. You're a bit mistaken there, Starcraft didnt even exist right after the Korean war, and although Starcraft is indeed quite widespread in Korea and many businesses open with starcraft in mind, its effects are minimal to be able to completely overturn a whole country's economy.

It's also a bit biased of you to say that gaming is a part of "typical" Korean lifestyle. The reason people think of it that way is cuz a few games have become very popular in Korea, and therefore the selling numbers of a few games are very high, leading many people to think Koreans have no other life but gaming lol. But trust me, thats certainly not the case.

Handheld or console games arent as popular in Korea as online games, as a result Korea sees high numbers in a couple of online games. Other countries are more widespread in their gaming interests, including online games, Gameboy, Wii, XBOX, Playstation, etcetcetc, so the selling numbers of one particular game is not very high but all games put together they become a substantially big number. A good example is Japan, which develops most consoles + their games and enjoy high selling rates in America as well, but online game statistics cant even compare to that.
