Thought I would do something no one dared to do...
I used advanced dark,black,diamond+stimulator
Making the diamonds+blacks+dark to advanced=~200m

Result?

it boomed, I didn't get to take a ss..too pissed to think about it

10% default blowing up, I had almost 1.1k hands..Are you serious..

I kinda know how you feel...I finally gathered 10 black powders(from cursed eyes because this was at the moment right when the patch came out and their map is horrible...) to make my Dark Neschere crossbow and it blew up Sad.
Then I decided to get 10 red powders to make my level 100 shoes and it also blew up Sad.

Just wondering, what's the point of using a dark crystal when the only stat there is on the claw is luk? Might as well have used a luk crystal.

This. You probably coulda sold the advanced DC for a ton of money and bought an advanced luk very cheap in comparison and would have gotten the best effect from the advanced DC with 100% success rate.

Tip: For weapons, best idea is almost always

diamond + primary stat crystal + black crystal or another stat that's helpful i.e. HP, avoid, accuracy

I believe that dark and black crystals can add 5/3 to any stat respectively. There are only luk,atk,avoid 33.33% chance and 50/50 of it going up or down...It was a risk I was willing to take.

Does the Black Crystal increase the effect of the Diamond up to the point it's possible to have +6 attack from gemming alone (not counting stimulator)?

I was under the impression you could add weapon attack with both a Dark and a Black Crystal if you used them on the same item.

Very common misconception and many people I talk to believe it this way. They instantly assume advanced dark is 5, so it's better, while it's not. Since it's gonna get out anyway, I'll just say it once (Even though it's been said in other places)

DC - Acts like a chaos and affects AP stats only, meaning str/dex/int/luk

BC - Acts like a chaos and affects non-AP stats only, meaning accuracy, avoid, attack, magic attack, def, etc

tl;dr: DC doesn't effect attack, BC does

From what I've seen, the dark crystals also affect all stats equally, so it's not a 1/3 chance of being useful - it's just 50-50 whether it increases or decreases. And when it's good, it's very good Tongue Like that overall that got +4/+4 from a DC onto str/dex.

Makes me want to do up a str/dex equip with luk/int/dark crystals Tongue

2 times i tried a stimulator ...both times the items got bombed i lost 2 advanced dex and advanced powers..not such a great loss as yours cause i was making shoes...but hell....2/2 10% is mad chances.
