Welcome to... Crimsonwood Keep! - Berzerk - 2009-05-27

This is basically my first background I've created. I think it's pretty freaking good for not even really knowing how to use Photoshop. And even then, god it's sexy.

Without further ado:

 Spoiler

Size - 985KB
Dimensions - 1024x640

Anyways, what do you think? Biggrin

Also, for everyone that likes it gets some free [Image: Rellik.png].

EDIT: Magatia Done Tongue

Ereb and Elin will have to wait until I can find a way to extract what I need. I don't think everything is in GMS data yet and that's the only place I can extract from.

EDIT2: ELIN IS DONEEEEE WOOO. I think it turned out really good. I'm currently using it for my Background.

What do you think? Also, I'm like 90% sure there are no Ereb files in the GMS unless someone can point them out for me. I don't like aimlessly wandering through the data looking for something that might not be there.

Free [Image: Rellik.png] [Image: Rellik.png] [Image: Rellik.png] [Image: Rellik.png] [Image: Rellik.png] [Image: Rellik.png] for all.

EDIT3: Backgrounds Pack 1 is up!

Backgrounds Pack 1 on Mediafire

Total File Size - 8.2mb
Demensions - 1440x900
Text and Texless versions of the 3 BG's

Enjoy!

Oooo, not a bad idea. Maybe I'll make a ton of different towns. Tongue

Do like. Goggles plz. <3
And on topic, it is nice. Ellin please. <3

That's pretty amazing. I'd do a textless one, though.

I don't usually like text in front of an epic view D:

Unless it's a cutscene. Then it's ok, as long as it fades away while the camera slowly moves away...

I might as well just take requests on the towns. I'm definitely going to do Magatia then Elin if I can find somewhere to extract all the stuff from.

I like it :O

Ereb after those 2 if you get the chance, also goggles please

I made the Magatia wallpaper. Ereb and Elin will be next providing I find a way to get the images I need.

Magatia picture = flawless. Awesomeness score = 93%. Epic-ness score = 65%. (I don't remember seeing mountains in magatia, but I won't penalize you xD)

CWK picture = lighting is all wonky. Especially on the grave markers. Fix pl0x.

Oh yeah, also I believe Elin images are already in the data. Look harder.

I think some slight adjustment to the color (hue, saturation, gloss, etc) would make it better than plain original; otherwise, it's not so bad.

Wait, what's the difference between awesomeness score and epicness score?

For those that are intrested, Elin Forest is done. I think it's the best one yet. Although, maybe a little more detail couldv'e been put in. But that image right there took awhile. So many god damn layers of pomegranate. xD

Anyways, enjoy!

I really like the Magatia and Elin Forest backgrounds.

Hey, those are quite nice! I agree with some, text-free versions would also be cool, and as long as I'm making wishes, what about a widescreen version? Some of us have laptops or wide monitors, and those don't look quite as spiffy when using a 4:3 image.

My only comment about the Crimsonwood is not quite as intelligent as Kajiti's, but I noticed the grave markers just jump right out at you instead of blending in; it's as if they were cut out and placed there instead of occurring naturally.

My favorites are the Magatia and Ellin Forest ones! I'd use either of them as my wallpaper at home with or without the text... if they fit my screen. Biggrin

The ellin one is my background too, since I requested it. <3

Well the images were made to fit my current screen resolution which is widescreen at 1440x900. When I uploaded them to Photobucket, it scaled them down a tad (1024x640). Tomorrow I might get around to hosting them on a different site, or uploading them in a pack so that they can be in their full glory. Also, if I end up doing a pack, I'll have a Text version and a Textless version since people have been asking about that. Oh, and I might get around to editing the CK one.

Edit: Also, I'm taking request on the next few towns that should be done. Ereb is on hold until I have the resources. I might do a NLC one, that'd be pretty hard though. I'm sure the buildings have like 6 different pieces to them.

Wow, the Ellin one looks great.

Aha, I didn't actually notice they were widescreen... I think I saw the "1024" and my brain filled in "1024×768" somehow. Doh! Eek

Check your options when uploading; I recently noticed that Photobucket has different options, including resizing and compression. For my images (mostly screenshots, nothing fancy) I use "Reduce to 1 megabyte," and so far nothing has been scaled down.

Elin Forest picture = well done! I've noticed that you took some time to add some light holes on the underside of the tree house. It might be a bit strong in a few places, especially when you compare it to the trees in the background. Awesomeness score = 90%. Epic-ness score = 66%.

EDIT: I didn't notice this before, but the light glows coming from the windows are painfully circular. By that, I mean it just looks like you used a circle select tool and just brightened the area. That doesn't give it a natural feel. Instead, you should see if you can get the glow to "fall off" instead of abruptly stopping.
