The plan for my sh[SIZE="2"]i[/SIZE]tty cell phone has finally ran out and I can finally get a new one. I was thinking of getting an iPhone but my dad said the service plan would be too expensive. So now I am at a loss for what phone I should get. The LG Versa looked cool but when I looked at the price, I gave up on it. After a quick search around the internet, the LG CU500 caught my eye but I would like some more options.

So I need some recommendations for a good, reliable cell phone that plays music (my ancient iPod Nano stopped working a while ago and my Zen is really bulky).

For the record, I have an old Nokia 6131 and, despite that Nokia are my favorite cell phones, it's an awesome black brick.

Not sure if you have Verizon in your area but I just recently got the Blackberry Storm which is just like the iphone except not as much and the plans are a much better price.

I currently have the LG Dare which is alright. Although the main downers are the fact that it is rather large and has a clunky touch screen. So, I wouldn't really reccomend that. The Blackberry Storm is slightly larger but I'm sure the touch screen is 10 tmimes better just because it's Blackberry. Probably my favorite phone I had was my LG Chocolate Flip (VX8500). It was slim, sexy and got what I needed done.

I still want an iPhone though. =[

I have the LG Dare as well and for me, the touch screen isn't really all that clunky. It's no iPhone, but it's not bad. You need to calibrate the touch screen and get used to it a little, but I don't find it a problem. Most of the time I can text without getting any errors, and I don't text 24/7 or anything either. I would recommend it, but it's always good to go into the store and mess around with whatever phone you plan on buying.

Hm, the Nokia 5800 does looks nice.

Anyway, I am only looking for a few things such as:
- Plays music
- Good audio quality
- Durable
- NOT bulky
- Camera (all phones should have this imo)

Yeah, I can't really think of anything else.

Nokia phones have the best audio quality so far, and trust me, I've tested LOTS of cell phones. The 5800 and the 5610 are very nice choices.

If you want a music player and a camera phone, sounds like you should get a phone with the most popular mp3 player integrated to it. *cough*iPhone*cough*.

From AT&T you get unlimited data and 450 minutes per month for $70 a month on a two year contract.

So if you do get it, it will cost you $1680 + $300 for a 16GB iPhone, to a total of about $2000.

That might be too much for you? It all depends, remember this is over a long period of time. Also, the iPhone has proven to me to be very useful at times. It is also a fun gadget to play with when you're bored. It's way more than just a phone and mp3 player. You should go to the AT&T stores or Apple stores and play around with one for a long period of time.

Hm, my dad told me I couldn't get an iPhone because the monthly charge was $90 a month. I was planning to talk to him again later tonight. We'll see how it goes. If not, the Nokia 5800 currently has my attention.

I can't find the 5800 on the AT&T website at all, so I don't know the price on it. If it turns out to be something ridiculous, maybe it would be an better option to buy a basic cellphone and an iPod Touch? You might end up saving money that way.

Also depending on how much you use your phone, going pre-paid might be an even better option.

The Nokia 5800 is like $400 on Nokia's website. As for the iPod Touch + basic cell phone, I have a basic cell phone and a Zen. The problem with my current cell phone is that it is old, bulky, and has a ton of dents and marks on it.

I use my phone a lot.
