Why is everyone worried about unlimited? - Justin - 2013-04-16 KhainiWest Wrote:I think the underlining point which is somewhat valid he's trying to make is that hackers will have to invest more gear than they do now in order to fight these bosses. Which comes with slightly more risk. If stack hack gets patched, then yes, they will need some gear to kill with nodelay. If stack hack does NOT get patched, then no, they can seriously run and gun with 120 clean equips and kill whatever the pineapple they want. That you can't get unless you can kill the corresponding boss that dropped the gear you have in the first place, from my understanding. Which means if you want to add AO to your Empress gear, you're fu'cked until people have spent enough to finally be able to deal with her again, and you certainly won't be able to do it yourself, or even with a group of friends unless you're all spending way too much money. If you want to AO your empress gear you're either going to be waiting for 140 flames to deflate or going on runs and in either scenario you're far from f'ucked. Of course, if you can't afford flames deflating, then you probably don't need AO to begin with. Why is everyone worried about unlimited? - Sorien - 2013-04-16 Arrol Wrote:What's a stack hack? No it's very different. It unleashes the damage you would be doing if you had hit the maximum targets with your attack, but onto one target, multiplying your damage by up to 15 times for some skills. How is being completely reliant on the market not being completely fu'cked? Really? Having absolutely no way to get it yourself in any way, shape, or form is acceptable to you? Not everyone has unlimited money to pineapple around with the system until it happens to give you something useful, which considering the range of possibilities is going to be a very long time and a very large sum of cash. I normally don't humor you, but you're being ridiculous here. I heard Ctrl + Alt + Up/Down usually activate some pretty swell meso hacks. In all seriousness though, I am amazed this stack hack thing still exists. It's literally been the prime target of complaints as far as cheating in game go for the past several patches, and oh, what loud complaints they have been. I'm honestly not online enough to personally confirm if its still around, but if it is.... man. Thats something else. This is something you think is true, and i'm being ridiculous? They're VERY CLEARLY not difficult to obtain in KMS, regardless of the means used. I don't know about you, but double HP and half time limit on bosses isn't "impossible" especially in GMS nor does it foster the conditions for a "you're f'ucked" upgrade scenario. Polantaris Wrote:Not everyone has unlimited money to pineapple around with the system until it happens to give you something useful, which considering the range of possibilities is going to be a very long time and a very large sum of cash. I REALLY am having a hard time understanding why you have a problem with the way additional options work or why you seem to think they're huge money grabs. You don't need "unlimited money" for AO. Maybe if you want nothing but the absolute best, which most people do, but they settle. To the majority of people that the boss changes affect, AO is nothing more than something to farm. It doesn't require investment in anything other than time, and it certainly isn't a "brick wall" system where you're restricted from doing anything. I said it before. If you empressed in a group or otherwise before unlimited, you're still going to be able to empress, you just need to put in more effort than before, but not an impossible amount. Polantaris Wrote:I normally don't humor you, but you're being ridiculous here. Are you serious? Flat out saying "if you want to upgrade an equipment set that literally everyone and their mothers have in every single version, you're f'ucked" without explaining anything that actually affects why there would be a massive lack of 140 flames sounds WAY more ridiculous than "you're exaggerating, as usual". Even my nostalgia for the game is filled with memories of people basically hacking the everlasting hell out of every map and killing everything there within a second or two of its spawn. I generally came to the conclusion that Maplestory will always have people who are head-bound and determined to play the game in the easiest way possible, so hacks like this "Stack hack" and no-delay will always exist in some incarnation or another. Or at least, cheats that are equally as severe will come along and replace them if they are fixed. The game is too popular to not come under attack. In short, I've grown used to it. As much as I'd like for things to be smooth, balanced, and honest, it'll never be that way so long as the temptation to cheat and the tools to do so are out there. This is one of the most severe hacks we've had though because it's literally cut boss drop prices down to 1/10 of what they were originally worth. It's pathetic that it's gone unpatched for this long. Yeah, because you can totally control what other people decide to post. OT: I personally find AO a great edition, but would much rather not have it because of the scissor count. Which comes with slightly more risk. I agree that it has some validity, but as Unlimited also brings about the increased chance for epic and unique equips to drop along with additional potentials it's still worrying that they'll make it back to the bosses much faster than anyone else, again possibly barring some very powerful parties being formed. This is especially true as most bosses have had their HP roughly doubled and Arkarium now actually drops Dominator Pendants at a low rate which I'm sure would be pretty tempting. |
